The faculty is almost in total revolt. JFJR has stacked his board and office with yes men who operate like the mafia. Anytime JFJR is caught doing something unChristian he say, “I’m not a preacher.” He’s a terrible human being.

So.....he drinks alcohol, has a yacht, has friends......
I don’t understand what’s going on? What’s the problem? It’s a weird picture but what about it is immoral? What am I missing here?

Staff and faculty at LU have to agree not to consume alcohol. It least that used to be the case.

The “Dora the Explorer” flesh belt is a questionable choice!

He is married and claims he doesn’t drink. Apparently he has had to use Michael Cohen’s services in the past. Also, you don’t find it a bit objectionable that someone that runs a tax exempt church has a yacht?

1. They were dressed up as people from the Trailer Park Boys Show. So some type of costume thing.
2. He made sure to say it was just colored water (no way to know for sure if that is accurate).
3. He’s the president of the university, not the pastor of a church (thats his brother). But even if he was, churches set the salaries of their pastors, and if the church decides a pastor deserves enough money to buy a yacht then so be it.

im not the morality police by any stretch. Hypocrisy not withstanding, the man can exercise his free will as he sees fit. If people buy it it’s their right/ naïveté to do so.

I don’t know the guy from Adam. Never had anything to do with Liberty or Jerry Falwell. I know very little about either the school or Falwell. That said, how does him owning a yacht affect you in anyway? Even if the church is tax exempt - and someone in this thread said the guy ran the school and not the church - he is not tax exempt as far as any salary he gets and would have to pay taxes on his income.

The guy may be a scumbag, I don’t know, but I don’t give a crap if he owns a yacht. You have real bad and evil people in this world walking around untouched, but this guy having a yacht is what you are upset about?

I think he used terrible judgment to even do it let alone share a picture on social media. It’s a bad look for any university president, let alone one like Liberty who stake their claim on high Christian values. I’m not buying anything from him, I just wanted to point out he’s likely making a 6 figure salary at minimum as president of a university so owning a yacht shouldn’t be a big deal. Taking pictures of yourself with your pants unbuttoned and sharing it to the world, even if dressed as a character from a show, however, is a very bad look.

Then the church needs to pay taxes.

His owning a yacht doest effect me one iota. He is free to do so. I just find profiting to extent of buying yachts on the Lords back objectionable. Never said you had to.

Why exactly? The pastor making the money has to pay taxes. The church gets its finances from tax payers who give of their income AFTER TAX to pay for things such as utilities, missions, and of course their pastors salaries. If they decide to pay him more than you think they should, too bad. That’s their prerogative.

How many university Presidents don't make a 6 figure salary?

Like I said, far more serious issues to be upset about in this world.

Not sure he bought it as Creflo Dollar and Kenneth Copeland have bought their jets ... duping their congregation ... but even if such luxuries were purchased with "his own money", I'd imagine a true man of God would live far more humbly than this.

This is why I target "Christians" and "religion" as much as I target Atheism, Islam, Marxism, etc.

Long story short ... I agree with you.

This does not strike me as the works of a "man of God" ... and that's coming from somebody who knows not all my ways and mannerisms always reflect my personal walk.

Jerry Jr. became a millionaire through real estate. He owned lux properties before he became president. He taken LU from zero endowment to over $1bil. LU has 100,000 students. Because of those numbers I think little warning signs were ignored until he was able to stack the power position with his friends. Now his ridiculous behavior is out in the open.

I dont like the guy at all. I was a huge fan of his dad.

I dont find it objectionable that soneone running a church owns a yacht. Plenty of charuty owners out there making big bucks. I find his money no more objectionable than the rest.

But he is a piece if ****

I’m assuming that isn’t his wife in the pic?
Also, I have no clear who Michael Cohen is
And third, no I honestly couldn’t care less if he owns a boat. I’d have a nice boat too if I had the money for it

Politicians on both sides of the aisle don’t make salaries that allow them to buy yachts but most still have them

I doubt that to be the case. If you have a yacht and you're a sitting member Congress you took a pay cut to get there and already had one. Many do go on to be incredibly wealthy once they start lobbying or have enough clout for book deals like how Obama got some wealth while sitting in Congress. My next-door neighbors are 2 congressmen and a Senator renting the house. I assure you none of them anywhere near yacht status.

I find it more of a problem for Politicians who come into office as middle class and leave office as multi millionaires.
