As the coronavirus shutdown wears on, “people are getting restless,” Jimmy Kimmel said Monday night. “Especially the people who aren’t too bright.”

When the late-night host saw the hashtag #FloridaMorons trending over the weekend he thought, “that could mean a lot of things.” Specifically, people all over the country were outraged that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had decided to reopen several beaches. “Fortunately there are no old people living in Florida who might be at risk,” Kimmel joked.

This brought the host to the many “stay-at-home” protests across the country, which have been explicitly encouraged by President Donald Trump.

“Despite everyone who works for him telling people to stay at home, despite the official White House mandate being ‘shelter-in-place,’ over the weekend, the guy who runs the White House tweeted, ‘Liberate Michigan,’ ‘Liberate Minnesota’ and ‘Liberate Virginia,’” he said. “This from a man who refuses to even liberate Melania!”

Calling Trump’s comments “irresponsible to the most unbelievable degree,” Kimmel played footage that refuted the president’s claim that the protesters were demonstrating in an “orderly” fashion, six feet apart. “If he thinks those people were six feet apart, it might explain why he thinks his hands are normal size,” the host joked.

“I get that people need to go back to work, I do,” Kimmel said. “But the point of ‘stay-at-home’ is to get a lid on this, so we can get back to work. And then stay at work. I’m starting to think that these characters who support Trump might be suicidal. They seem to fight hardest for the things that will kill them.”

“They want freedom to gather in large groups during an epidemic,” he continued. “They want guns. They want pollution. I figured it out: They want to die and they’re taking us down with them.”

No, they want freedom, to choose, not be told. Just a basic founding principle of this country. I’m not shocked liberals don’t understand this.

Jimmy Kimmel is a mental midget. This is a man who started his career with a show that featured women in bikini's jumping up and down for no reason other than to get people to lust over them and get ratings. Oh but he's "woke" now and would certainly call for someones dismissal if they were to do the same. What a wimp.

First, you think this was important enough to tell us about it?

Second, a lot of people who care about the Constitution would rather it be recommendations from the federal government of what we should do to protect ourselves. There should not be executive orders breaching the bill of rights. Those executive orders shouldn't be arbitrary as to what remains open, and what doesn't. Cooper should be all over this, the government is picking more winners and losers. Examples:
  • Supercenters are open with idiots bringing their entire families in and no PPE. Yet, nearly all other small businesses ordered closed.
  • Dog groomers are open. Human groomers are not.
  • State ABC stores are open. Churches, even stay in your car churches, are closed.
  • Campgrounds are closed. Even native campsites with noone else around. Yet government officials stand side by side. Hell, Chris Cuomo publicizes his positive test and sickness, yet refuses to isolate, and nothing happens to him.
And finally, people shouldn't get arrested protesting while following all other aspects of their ridiculous executive orders. That is certainly a violation of rights, but still barely registers.

The arbitrary and illogical rulings of the 50 subkings are ridiculous. Tell us the guidelines, and let us decide on our own how to keep ourselves safe.

Let me tell you a little secret - I'm doing that already. Piss on their orders, I'm keeping my circle controlled and small, but I'm not totally in isolation. I took a drive Friday to nowhere, and I liked it. If I could camp, I would've already. I thought about doing that anyways, but the risk is too high of getting caught.

Addendum - Even yesterday I went all non-essential. Some guys in my development made one of the "You honk we drink" signs. I went around twice more than necessary to make them drink more.

What we have done, and the left is now clinging onto will never be repeated in the US again. Will Trump get the blame, or will it be the medical profession that takes the heat...we all know liberals are off limits.

The world has never tried to isolate healthy people...it has always been to isolate the at risk population while trying to practice protective measures. One of the major factors of the black plague was because people lived close together. Now, we are forcing people to live close together instead of getting outside and moving around.

The gov. either knows something that they don't want to tell us about what is going on, or we are truly sheep being lead around like a mindless flock.

Oh my, you’re right, we need to liberate Americans from the government in which they elected right? Speed limits, laws against cocaine, a specific side of the road to drive on, no orgies in the front yard, no guns on planes, no BASE jumping off buildings in downtown Chicago, no masturbating on public buses.....the oppressive, nanny state has robbed us of our personal liberties and made a mockery of the Constitution! Non-liberals unite! Let’s throw off this cloak of smothering government, and create a new form of government, because we love America so much! Liberals will never understand.

You make hyperbolic comparisons, cool. At the end of the day, in every example you listed, none are depriving citizens of liberty. Freedom to earn, freedom to assemble, none of your examples touch that. Basic deprivation of our founding principles.

One can earn selling cocaine, or tickets to see an orgy in the front yard. But yeah, my example is surely hyperbole- which was the point genius - so are the protests and all the hullabaloo about these TEMPORARY measures as suggested by Trump and all government and health officials.

Kinda like Trump.

Jimmy Kimmel is a comedian and not a very good one. So are a lot of the other liberal political opinion shifters for the left. In my eyes that says something and its not good lol. You get your news from comedians lol. Court jesters. Goofballs who would be total losers if they didnt somehow make it big in hollyweird. Celebrities are completely out of touch with working class America, and most of them are emotional basket cases, drug addicts and more. I wouldnt trust them to make a cheese sandwich let alone believe their wimpy opinions on topics way over their heads. But that doesnt mean I dont like their movies and songs, and jokes sometimes too. But it stops there.

Awards shows are the worst of American culture. They're an *** kissing fest whose main purpose is to serve as a marketing tool for whatever industry the is holding the awards. It's a three hour commercial where a bunch of people wearing formalware put themselves on TV to give each other awards but it's marketed as something that the general public should care about. Why should WE care what THEY think what is the best TV show?

I can figure out for myself what TV show I like best, if I even care enough to decide, and if I want to discuss the matter I can do so with friends and family. No need for me to watch people in the TV industry pat each other on the back.
