Vindman snapped at ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes after he referred to him as “Mr. Vindman.”

During his public impeachment testimony on Tuesday, Vindman was taking a line of questioning from Nunes when the California Republican referred to him as “Mr. Vindman” rather than his official military title.

“Mr. Vindman, you testified in your deposition that you did not know the whistleblower,” Nunes said.

Vindman replied, “Ranking member, it’s Lt. Col. Vindman, please.”

Vindman testified Tuesday as part of the House impeachment inquiry that he was asked to serve as Ukraine’s defense minister.

I heard that live, and I didn't think it sounded like Vindman snapped and Rep Nunes. I thought he was polite, just stating how he would like to be addressed during questioning.

I'll admit that it struck me as odd that he did it, but he was polite about it. I'll freely admit that I'm not wise in the ways of these things in formal hearings. Maybe this is something that needs to be kept clear in the record.

He stated a few seconds later he was worried about his Twitter rep.

Your comment tells me all I need to know about you. Because he's not a civilian, he's in the military. He's not a mister, he's a Lt. Col. and should be addressed as such.

It's possible that he was trying to clear up the difference between himself (Lt Col of NSC) and his twin brother, an attorney in the White House. His brother was also at the hearing, although he was not called to testify, at least not yet.

Yes because I always barked at civilians who didn't address me by my rank. He should have told him to knockout 50 pushups. [eyeroll]

That was not a few seconds later. That was further along in the questioning. I know "a few seconds" was wrong because I was still driving when I heard him correct Rep Nunes. When I parked, Rep. Nunes was still asking questions.

Is it really a stretch for a guy who has an identical twin who works in the same place he does? I don't know why he made the correction. I'm not ready to assume he's a POS because of it though. As I said, he didn't snap, as you said in the OP. He said it as politely as possible. If you want to discredit him, I think you need to find a better argument.

He’s doing just fine discrediting himself in this hearing.

You actually think he thought people would confuse him with his brother.

He lied when he said this. He later said he met Zelensky once and it was part of a larger delegation. He never advised him of this.

Please....put the pipe down.
So you are saying that it's not possible that an identical twin might not be sensitive to the fact that people might confuse him with his brother, a brother who works in the same building as him?

Also, I read about the twitter claims about Lt Col Vindman. Unsubstantiated and fairly weak on evidence, especially considering the folks who are standing up to counter them with facts.

It is the appropriate and proper thing to do when he is testifying in front of Congress and WEARING HIS UNIFORM.

********, you're a f'ucking moron.
It’s 100% appropriate. I agree.

it’s also 100% the epitome of being a douche. Anyone who has served knows these types of jackasses. But I agree, it’s 100% appropriate, just not necessary.
