Finally realized that Kendall though meaning well wasnt getting it done.

its too bad Brown threw the season away when Doege clearly should have been Playing all season.

Now- can Brown win two more and get WVU to a bowl?

Phew! I was terribly worried that you were so despondent over WVU win and Cougar High loss that you had driven off of a cliff.

So why did Dana not play king this season, throwing away this year?

Brown knew he had a young team this season and it would be a struggle and he said so for months leading up to the season. It was possible that Kendall was going to be good enough to get us some wins toward bowl eligibility, but you never know. In my opinion, Brown looks pretty smart now, saving Doege’s year, giving him two more years to play while getting experience in the system this season over these last 4 games. Though it will be tough, it is still possible for this team to get bowl eligible and finish with possibly a 7-6 record. If we get to that point, Doege will have to sit the bowl game though, and Kendall will get a chance to redeem himself.

Dana will only get one more year out of king, but he thought it was worth it to redshirt him.

Brown waited until he was under the gun to make a switch. Theres no reason to throw away what could have been an excellent season- no reason at all.

If Brown has a few seasons like this he will be gone - he was brought in for the team to have improvement not go backwards but so far hasnt gone anywhere but back until yesterday- when he finally realized he was brought to WVU to win games, not wait fiur years for player development.

still a chance to get to a bowl which the AD considers the reasonable goal for a successful season. Two to go.

Under your standards a .500 season is an "excellent" one. Not many others share that view. As bad as its been, still a chance to get there.

Without checking, I'm sure Dana has Houston there already seeing as he's such a great coach and playing inferior AAC competition and all.

If only Brown would have realized making you happy by going .500 sooner. All of these "facts" you've brought us over the past 11 weeks or so would have likely gone unstated.

But, of course, there's a chance we won't make it. I'm sure that if that happens, it will be that Brown forgot that was the goal. You'll be here to remind us that he "forgot" I'm sure. The gift that keeps on giving.

But, at least you'll have the opportunity to watch Dana put a pounding on some poor souls during Houston's bowl game as his overall bowl record is so aweso... oh wait, it isn't. Maybe he didn't "realize" that was the goal of bowl games? You didn't remind him? Oh well, you'll get your chance to in a New Year's Day bowl in a few weeks I'm sure.

Your pathetic. Go someplace curl up and die. It's called a RS because your boy friend left no QB at WVU. If they don't RS Doege then you have 3 SR QB's 2 SO QB's and a freshman QB. See dumb *** there's a gap between classes. Learn football before spouting off your ignorance.

I think Brown did the right thing in waiting to play Doege. Otherwise we'd already be looking shaky at QB for 2021. Part of building a good program is having a solid foundation and that means not just good players playing now but good players backing them up and good players in the pipeline for a couple years down the road.

Now, barring injury or an unexpected backslide by Doege, we're good at QB until 2022 and we can start worrying about developing the QB pipeline for when 2022 comes.

We have the right coach and he made the best decision for the team at that time. Doege had shoulder surgery and wasn’t ready. Now he is and he is playing. Yesterday was a new day for Mountaineer football.

He would have been a RS injury or not.

AD also said be patient as it will take time to build. Doege is a RS and you have no clue what that means for the future.

I didn't even captain deuschebags post, but what I will say for Doege, I'm not going to pretend like he set the world on fire, heck late in the game he had back to back plays one he went right he had a check down to the back the defenders were 10 yards upfield he could have hit him with the pressure coming down and gained a few, next play he went left and too quick just threw it in the stands, he left yards out there late when we wanted to kill.the clock. BUT. he also didnt throw the ball to the other team or do anything to directly cause a loss, and we were winning because more often than not, if guys got open, he hit them. Simple yes but he did it. Not guys running free and throws 10 yards deep, or guys open midrange and he overthrows by 7 yards and its picked and it's all the receivers faults. He makes most of the throws any starter should, plus some tough one, and nothing majorly stupid. And we can live with that right now

The most important fact: Doege makes WVU's future look bright for 2020 and 2021. The guy already has more than 4,000 passing yards during his 2 seasons with Bowling Green. If he gets 4,000 more passing yards for WVU we could be a serious Big 12 title contender. That would be awesome and a welcome change!

And hopefully either the kid coming in next year or a kid we get for the following year become the future. That buys greene a year to get ready if its him, he may need it for.strength if nothing else, or we land a bigger fish in 2021 which isnt a bad thing. But good thing is, so far at least, he at least looks competent, which is a change of pace from what we've seen at times this year, and maybe our D was motivated by their performance last week, but you have to.think the offense coming out like that this week got them going. I just hope whoever takes the lead of keeping Sam James on track, its not bob Huggins. Yeah I get its football, but he is still a freshman who has been blamed for a bad qb, has had some issues, and doesnt need an anvil dropped on him, he can still be strengthened up, not destroyed

I never said a .500 season is an excellent one. Unfortunately that is the only place WVU can now get to.

WVUs AD Lyons said that he feels a successful season--not a GREAT season mind you--would be getting to 6 wins and a bowl game.

That's the best WVU can do right now because the coaching staff did such a poor job over the course of this season in various areas like preparation, in game coaching and player evaluation.

But hey if we wins the next two and a bowl WVU will have 7 wins--two more regular season games for that chance.

You have to wonder what was Doege doing at Bowling Green in the first place--lots of MAC schools get these sorts of QBs when P5 schools are not getting outstanding QB play.

He does bode well for future games--the offense looked completely different with him at the helm.

.

Look no further than Seth Doege as WR coach at Bowling Green.

When asked how big of an influence his brother was on his decision, Doege had this response.

"It's awesome to have him there. It had an effect on my decision. It will be a lot of fun having him around."

Doege has two more games to prove he should be the guy next year. If not, the playing experience Kendall got this year will help make the QB battle during the off season more competitive between JD & AK.

I wonder if Lowe would be better suited due to his reported athleticism at another position. I have been excited to see what he can do since he committed but the limited views we have gotten makes one wonder if maybe the arm accuracy is not there. He will be in year 3 in the program next August and will have a full year under his belt in Brown’s system, so maybe he makes a run next summer and breaks out and gets a shot to start.

If all three are here next summer, it will be the most experienced QB room we have had in a while, I have to imagine.
