Anyone want to take a shot at defending this?
Straight cash.

That said, it does play into the shut up and dribble stuff. They can't have it both ways.

ETA: Although I guess it could be argued their wokeness on our shores was about money too? Meh. I genuinely don't give enough ***** about the NBA or its players.

South Park had a good episode about it.

Same with Steve Kerr. I am finding this whole situation facinating. I play video games and the Chinese market is something like 20x the size in China in that genre but most AAA game studios been US companies.

Time to see if these companies that pander to the left are willing to show their hand. Is it going to be about the social justice or bottom dollar?

Furious fans are hitting back at Blizzard by using one of its characters in anti-China memes after the gaming company punished a pro gamer for defending the Hong Kong protests

Seems plausible enough. I think it’s entirely obvious, just as you see on this board, it’s about China’s money.
As Whitlock stated, “this is a very simple story”
......... and you are debating Trump hating simpletons, this is really not a difficult concept.

The best part of this is watching a guy who called the NBA owners slave owners is carrying the NBAs water to sell out for the NBA over Chinese money.

No ****. They won't go to the White House to meet Trump because of what Trump says, but will take one in the arse from a country that actually DOES the horrible things they accuse Trump of.

LeBron James pressured the NBA to punish the Rockets’ GM Daryl Morey (the MIT grad} after he tweeted support for Hong Kong.

Incredibly, the South Park came out before this all happened. Apparently they're psychic.

Lots of people suspected that the NBA's social justice stuff in the US was a marketing gimmick and considering what happened with the Hong Kong stuff, I'd say they were proven correct. The NBA is gonna take whatever stance is necessary to bring in money. In the US, that is the US social justice stuff. But when it comes to China, it's whatever the Chinese government wants.

They're literally burning Lebron James jerseys in Hong Kong.

It's like the steroid episode that South Park did years back, and the crack baby league after that.
