...scholarship model for college athletics would be a good thing. Go back to the past to move forward in the future. No scholarships. Have to be a student in good standing to play. Smaller stadiums. Cheaper prices. No more stupid conference alignments. Playing folks in the area. The list goes on and on. Hey...ESPN would collapse and people would have to show up for games. Coaches would be paid real world wages again. Universities could save tons of cash. Fans would stay sober. Sport fan forums could turn attention to sports. And no one would give a **** about some over hyped...under educated...destined for welfare 18 year old and what gear they wear. Not bad. At least sports would be in the proper life priority.

What should happen is athletes should receive a portion of the revenues from college athletics they are earning for the universities.

Should be a payscale consistent across the board of all universities of a specific level i.e. P5.

All universities that want to and can meet the criteria for P5 should be included in the ability to try to make an expanded playoff and play a P5 schedule.

The NCAA should set schedules so that everyone plays roughly the same level of opponents as close as is possible. I.e. Similar rankings, home away, fcs, g5, P5.

There should not be conferences and each school in the same classification should receive the same revenues from tv networks.

I think we don't realize that a reduction in athletic department spending does not make a win over Pitt any less enjoyable or a loss to Va. Tech any more painful.

Not happening. Even the NBA has conferences. You see through tiny glasses and not the whole picture. Get out of la la land and your tunnel vision then take a look at the entire picture...

No scholarships.

F'uck that.

Smaller stadiums.

F'uck that.

ESPN would collapse and people would have to show up for games.

F'uck that. I'm all for attending WVU home games but, it's nice to sit and watch a game every now and then on a flat panel, 65" HDtv in the comfort of my recliner with food and drink just a few steps away.

Fans would stay sober.

F'uck that.

And no one would give a **** about some over hyped...under educated...destined for welfare 18 year old and what gear they wear.

You seem awfully jealous that an 18-year old kid has the potential to earn millions, millions more than you. You'll enjoy life more when you are able to be happy for others when they are prosperous.

You're not doing life correctly. It's pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

CountryRoads...I am secure and happy in life but from the sound of your point by point protest I would guess you're not lol. Sorry.

By the way your command of the language is priceless. Notice how you can use one word to cover a whole host of responses lolx2.

You are...an aimless wanderer.

Why not just create a minor league? Leave college sports alone, let the full ride be payment. Give the young men a choice, cash now or a guaranteed future from a earned education?
