WVU is looking a lot like Iowa State.
The entire mentality. Think you are a threat to Oklahoma more than Texas.
We have seen this with Iowa State the last two years
I don’t think we can trade scores with Oklahoma based on how Kendall has performed thus far. I think there is a mental barrier the team has against Oklahoma that they don’t have against Texas. They have several wins over Texas that they haven’t had against Oklahoma since the fiesta bowl prior to joining the big 12.
It is too early for me to tell the exact personality the team will ultimately end up with under Brown. I like the lunch pail persona it appears he is going with, as that has been WVU’s bread and butter over its history.
I can’t - in any version of reality - put WVU and Iowa State in the same category, even just as a style comparison.
WVU is one of the top 15 all-time winningest programs in college football history. Iowa State has a history of NOT winning. If WVU claimed an obscure national title from 1914 and had a Heisman winner in 1956, the country would consider our history differently, even if we had a traditional losing program. However, despite being a historically winning program, because we don’t have “
the history” that some programs claim, we aren’t considered to be as successful. So I cannot in good conscience ever put WVU in the same category as ISU. It is great that they have been winning some the last could of years, but they aren’t in the same league as WVU based on history, even if they have gotten a couple of wins over us the last couple of years.
