Trump never misses an opportunity to do something stupid.

The Trump administration announced new rules on Wednesday to roll back requirements for energy-saving light bulbs, a move that could contribute to the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change.

The Energy Department’s filing in the Federal Register will prevent new efficiency standards from going into effect on Jan. 1 under a law passed in 2007.

The changes are likely to be challenged in court. “We will explore all options, including litigation, to stop this completely misguided and unlawful action,” said Noah Horowitz, director of the Center for Energy Efficiency Standards at the Natural Resources Defense Council, last week in anticipation of the move.

The gradual shift toward more efficient light bulbs is one of the largely unsung success stories in the fight to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. “U.S. household energy consumption is down 6 percent since 2010, and this is due in part to the increase in the use of energy-efficient lighting, said Lucas Davis, a professor in the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Congress passed legislation to phase out inefficient incandescent and halogen bulbs in 2007, during the administration of President George W. Bush.

How is that emissions rollback working out so far? They really hate innovation but it won't matter, Industry has to appeal to the majority of us not that backward lil tribe screaming at the future to get off their lawns.

Lets see what liberal thinking has brought us, remember ebonics, accepting lower test scores, no accountability for ones actions., light bulbs that cost 10 times what lights use to cost. Did I miss anything?

Much ado about nothing.

You think consumers are going to go back to the cheap, short life span, incandescent? Don't know a single person that doesn't go for LED's these days.

Sure hope not. This will get challenged in court but it's just another bad idea from Trump.

In a free market society, capitalist will produce what consumers will pay for, correct? The better option is that China will fill the gap for those that want them. It's a win-win for you.

We have the best.... light bulbs.... everyone knows.... the best bulbs.... everyone likes our bulbs.... great great bulbs....

I've got about a dozen left over in my house I've been slowly trying to use up. The ONLY thing about them that they still dominate with are dimming circuits, but otherwise switching is a no brainer.

I personally think the new bulbs suck, but I don't care either. I just buy a higher wattage and lesson my savings that I was promised.

We have switched over as the old bulbs burnt out. I just don't think they put out as much light as the older bulbs do. Might just be us, be my wife and I think their is a difference.

At my house we turn off the lights when we leave the room. During the day, open the curtains. We turn off our electronics when not in use. We are conservative in the truest form.
