When I read this, I thought of our resident relativist @Boomboom521 , but I can't really pick on him. He is simply symptomatic of the entire Left, with their shifting morals and shifting standards. Here's a really good read about that, and the Left's current crusade to eliminate all vestiges of "slavery" from our past. Author suggests they be careful, once their current standards of "outrage" change with another great cultural blight on America...killing the innocent unborn.

Liberals might learn lessons from a time machine

excerpts:
“Progressives” wish to tear down statues now, even of Thomas Jefferson, perhaps the greatest contributor ever to the advancement of human liberty, because he had been a slave owner. What they fail to understand is that societal mores change over time. What is acceptable today may not be considered societally acceptable 100 years from now.

Democrats want to pay “reparations” to descendants of American slaves. The ever-shrill Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee has even sponsored a bill which, in her words, would “repair some of the damage” caused to African Americans. Does anyone really think that either cash or an apology to America’s blacks for the enslavement of people long dead by other people also long dead would repair anything?

...more
We honor the great figures from our history for their accomplishments during the times in which they lived. Our honor of them does not “evolve” over time, based upon shifting societal norms, as though we expect them to have possessed some kind of preternatural foresight of what their society would consider “acceptable” 240 years later.

in conclusion
Place yourself into a hypothetical time machine, dial it to the year 2119, and find out what Americans have decided is an odious practice in Future America. I predict that you will find that abortion – that practice in which doctors punch a hole in the skull of a baby in the womb, vacuum out its grey matter, crush the skull, dismember the baby’s body, and extract the parts from its mother’s womb – has been deemed by society to be an outrageous, barbaric practice.

I have observed some posters on this board suggesting abortion should be extended to cover our aging folks.......

Once you can justify cheapening human Life at its beginning and most innocent stage, it becomes easy to justify cheapening it at any other point, including near it's end. So honestly Shirley Knott I'm not surprised by what you've posted here. It's the next logical step in on demand abortion of human Life.

Maybe you can start a thread on how evangelicals sold their souls to a demagogue. You know, like ignoring all his satan-like behaviors and such. Here you go; use this title, Lucifer/Trump, Father of Lies, Accuser, Tempter, Thief, and Adulterer.....

The accuser always accuses. He has from the beginning. He lies and accuses because the Truth is not in him. He is incapable of telling the Truth.

YOU refuse to define who a "lying Evangelical" is because you also like Satan refuse to recognize Almighty God's authority over lies. So I'm actually confused why you hate Trump so much? As a confessed believer in Christ's power over lies & Sin, Trump doesn't accuse Satan but he does convict him as the liar he is thus by definition he rejects his lies favoring Christ's Truth over Sin and Death as an alternative.

Do you?

See I believe the reason you refuse to identify what an Evangelical is revolves around the fact that you know they do not "sell out" to a person? How would that make them "Evangelical" if their Salvation is based on a mere Human? What have they "sold out" to?

Explain that? You're trying to accuse yet you refuse to recognize the Truth!

So if you know what in fact makes an "Evangelical" (and thus your charge of them being "sell outs" or "liars") why can't you define what they are or should be or have "sold out" to?

To call them (Evangelicals) "liars" means you know what the Truth is they follow! What is it?

See, the fact is you are so blinded by rage and hatred YOU can't even admit that because YOU in fact are the one who is trapped in lies!

Hopeless. Repent.
