Big 12-2=10 will be the surprise of the year in football? I truly believe it will be WVU...but I'm sure there is a lot of other choices. Who's yours?

Most will say Oklahoma State or TCU.

Fat Pat and Mike Gundy are proven and both have good to great talent.

Oklahoma St might have better options at QB.
Spencer Sanders is someone most are very high on and think who could develop into a top tier Big 12 QB.

There is a thing called fall camp where injuries happen.

Plus both teams still have questions at QB.

You are right about Oklahoma State having more of a chance based on prior success at QB

Yet you make no opinion on which team will surprise. It's a thought, it's not technical gospel that it's going to happen this way or else. The man asked an opinion and you gave a pile of ****. He just said pick a team you think will surprise. It's not written in freaking stone.

He didn't ask for a dissertation on the subject.

You attempt to pigeon hole teams as this team or that thinking that there aren't any variables.

Every team has variables that could change their situation.

Some teams like TCU have real high ceilings.
People like Phil Steele are real high on them but TCU doesn't have a for sure QB.

None of us know who the QB will be there yet.

TCU won't reach that level without a QB.

WVU probably sucks this year and takes a step back. I think Baylor jumps up and surprises a couple teams.

Trolls refer to TVZ as a troll.

Without Google, TVZ would simply be another fan4ever or stills, a meathead, if you will.

I am hoping the surprise team is Texas, finishing below expectations. I do believe Big 12 is down this year in quality that boosts Texas and they might be over hyped.

To surprise, a team would have to perform in a way that is well outside even fanatic expectations and there is only one team that can do that in the Big-12 in any season - KANSAS.

All of the other teams are capable of being good on a consistent basis and have been at different times. Some are good on a regular basis, some are not, but all of them taste victory on a regular cycle. Kansas does not.

Kansas now has a proven coach, some would even call him legendary - I will not go that far, but he has a worthy track record. A normal season for Kansas is 0 to 3 wins. If Kansas becomes bowl eligible this year, that would qualify as a surprise.

WVU pulling off the unexpected and racking up 7+ wins is great news for us but would it really surprise anyone? WVU has done that before. The surprise for Texas is that they do not place at the top each year as Oklahoma does. With their money and recruitment they should be the hunted never the hunter. The balance of the conference, all have what it takes to win, but most of them fall apart because their roster and coaches are not up to the challenge on a week-by-week basis and not so much because of who they played. Any team except Kansas, can beat any other team in the conference on a given day.

Kansas will still finish last this year. If the don't it means the Big 12 is not good this year and will be looking at the playoffs from the outside.

Now next year Kansas just might be a different story. But how long does Les Miles stay if he turns KU around. Older or not someone will offer.

Texas is a lot more athletic team under Tom Herman. That is for sure. Let us see if that works while they are young.
At least their conditioning and coaching have really improved.
Herman is driven. He can built a program fast and change things but no one knows how strong or for how long.
Most coaches can build at least something at Texas. Sad thing Charlie wasn't but Charlie screwed himself. Couldn't win the people.

Texas BBall
Is a win win situation.

Shaka has a big year with his loaded roster or Texas moves on.

Billy Donovan is #1 on the list
Word is he wants out of OKC. Final year of his contract. Texas would be the best job open.

I don't think Texas is at the point where they will sabotage the season.
I think it would be stupid. I think they let Smart coach and get the big names in the 2020 class.
