Those hoping 2nd quarter earnings would be disappointing and help usher in the next “recession”. Keep your chin up, good news for family & friend’s fortunes.

Today, it looked like the senior growth stocks were once again back in style, Cramer said, and that reminded him of the early 1980s, when the bull market was only just beginning.
Kimberly-Clark has been struggling for years, but now the company has roared back to life, posting 5% organic sales growth, led by gains in emerging markets. Coca-Cola has also returned from the abyss, with 6% organic growth that led shares to rally 6% by the close.

Hasbro smashes estimates

Analysts, on average, were only modeling earnings of $0.50 per share on revenue of $956.8 million.

Chairman and CEO Brian Goldner called it a "high-quality" quarter, pointing out "positive consumer trends at retail and profitable growth led by several geographies and brand categories."

As such, Goldner said the company believes it's on track to meet its target for profitable growth in 2019.

“We are seeing an average of 6% wage growth for employees of our Corp. accounts. This is a very strong economy”. Brian T Moynihan CEO Bank of America

Keep cherry picking that information though.

So let’s get this straight so there is no misunderstanding. You believe I’m cherry picking information, and this is not a strong economy as mention by the CEO of Bank of America Corp. Is that correct?

Still don’t believe this is a strong economy? Stocks are doing well because corporations are making profits. Corporations are making profits because the economy is doing well. I have no reason not to believe the CEO of a major corporation who states flatly, “ this is a very strong economy”, as well as many other indications ...... Call me crazy.

We need to increase interest rates to slow this runaway economic freight train down before it crashes into a brick wall called "prosperity" and crumbles the whole economy! [eyeroll]

Stocks have separated from profits, dont fool yourself. Stocks are about hope the trade wars ends soon and that there is a rate cut. Remember that the market were sitting at record highs two months before we hit the great recession.

You are choosing to ignore numerous flashing red lights. Will you act surprised when things go to **** or will you be trying to say everything is fine.

In this post, you once again have clearly demonstrated the typical misundertanding that exists on the Left about economics in general, and US Capitalism in particular.

Stocks are about market analysis on current economic performance & corporate earnings relative to price of individual shares. Company CFO's can't convince investors of their earnings on proxy sheets, or their liabilities on balance sheets if any of those are "fake" or if there's no anticipation of future economic activity to justify those numbers. Investors don't buy "fake news", they purchase shares based on hard provable numbers.

P/E ratios are solid, earnings are at record levels, market capitalization rates as well as indices are fabulous, wage growth is spectacular, consumer as well as business confidence is high, year-to-year performance on corporate balance sheets is energizing, cyclicals are rebounding, energy, transportation, manufacturing, financial services, logistics, even the once troubled tech sector are all flashing "green". The only real concern if it's ever been one is these exploding deficits, but with economic growth realistically approaching +4% GDP, if we can get at least some moderate measure of fiscal restraint we can literally grow our way out of these deficits and begin cutting wasteful spending with increasing revenue to the Treasury and expanded economic activity.

Wall street would of course like to see the trade war end, but they are NOT anticipating US capitulation as much as they are expecting Chinese surrender.

How did it not age well? The economy in the opinion of many is very strong and I believe that to be the case. In addition, I believe there are Liberals who very much wish otherwise, to the detriment of not only themselves, but to friends and family for strictly political purposes. Ps CAT is a strong Corp. and will continue to be so in the future.

The company will host its earnings call at 11:00 a.m. ET. We are reminded that Caterpillar is very much a conference call stock, so full judgement of the quarter and outlook cannot be made until we hear more from management. That said, we continue to like the longer-term framework of management's strategy and believe CAT can produce better results in the second half of the year into 2020 as more favorable economic conditions develop due to lower rates, eased trade tensions, and perhaps even a recovery in the oil cycle as told by Halliburton (HAL) and Schlumberger (SLB) . The stock deserves to be down a bit, but trading lower to $130 early this morning looks a bit oversold to us. We like it at that level because earnings may not come down as much as people are thinking -- remember consensus was already at the low end of management's outlook.

You can leave moe. @Boomerwv has already lost his bet to leave this forum.

Congressman Jordan: "Mr Mueller, did you have any input in the granting of the 3rd FISA warrant request?"

Mueller: "Can't get into that". [eyeroll]

But he's supposed to be explaining how Trump "colluded" with Russians then "obstructed" the investigation right @Boomerwv ?o_O

Do you want me to repost the terms of our bet? Or will you stop posting once Mueller is finished "testifying" to "collusion" and "obstruction"? [eyeroll]

I told you atl, I can't get into all of that!

He explained obstruction during the first question and not long thereafter agreed that he didnt find evidence of collusion. He has only refused to answer questions outside of his perview, such as FISA warrants.

The bet, in your words, was about collusion and obstruction, and answered questions on both.

I expect you to be the one leaving.

Looks like I'll have to repost the terms of the bet. You're changing what you agreed to, instead of preparing to get the Hell out of here forever.
