Estimated American casualties for a Japan invasion were 1 million. 10% of which are deaths. Anybody who thinks that if we wanted too, we couldn't reduce Afghanistan to nothing, underestimates what nuclear weapons would do to that area. A lot of it is uninhabitable anyway.
