Microsoft Delivers Big in Fourth Quarter
| Jul 18, 2019 7:38 PM EDT

Thursday evening, shortly after the closing bell, Microsoft (MSFT) reported a top- and bottom-line beat with its fiscal 4Q19 earnings results (note: all growth rates on a constant currency basis). On the top line, revenues of $33.7 billion (+14% YoY) exceeded expectations of $32.77 billion. On the bottom line, non-GAAP earnings of $1.37 per share (+24% YoY) were much better past estimates of $1.21 per share.

"It was a RECORD FISCAL YEAR for Microsoft, a result of our deep partnerships with leading companies in EVERY INDUSTRY.

Time for plan B for Libs if their recession hopes & wishes go South prior to the election.

They are desperate to see this economy implode, and with each bit of good news like this they cringe. What does it say about a political party or its supporters who actually cheer for bad economic news?

It shows how bankrupt they are and bereft of any policies to top this stunning economic performance. All they are reduced to is "Trump's a racist" or "It's still Obama's economy"

Pathetic.

You will receive very few Leftist insults, complaints or jokes about this post. They will avoid responding to you, remain silent and hope no one notices.

See how well you've shut them up? Nice work 79eer.[thumb2]

Didn’t really attempt to shut anyone up, just sharing the results of this healthy, strong, prosperous economy, and the terrific benefits to those who invest and believe in it.

Think I’ll go golfing tomorrow before it gets too warm, ..... I hate when that happens.

Then why does the Fed think it needs to cut rates?

Keep cherry picking that information though.

So let’s get this straight so there is no misunderstanding. You believe I’m cherry picking information, and this is not a strong economy as mention by the CEO of Bank of America Corp. Is that correct?

A booming manufacturing report just poked another hole in the Fed’s case for a rate cut
PUBLISHED THU, JUL 18 2019 11:23 AM EDTUPDATED 3 HOURS AGO

Jeff Cox@JEFFCOXCNBCCOM
KEY POINTS
  • The Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index registered a reading of 21.8 in July, a major jump from 0.3 in June and far better than Wall Street estimates for 5.
  • That marked the highest reading in a year and runs contrary to pessimism over the sector.
  • Federal Reserve policymakers are expected to approve at least a quarter-point interest rate cut this month, despite signs that economic growth has firmed.

Ok, we got CEO of a major Banking Corp. vs a far left Lib poster on a Web board, with differing opinions on the present economy.
............. What the hell was I thinking, your probably right.

I don't know what you'd call that snide little "cherry pick" remark @Boomerwv made, but to me your follow up post sure shut him the Hell up. Left his arrogant, ignorant Leftist lobotomized *** standing stupid stripped naked.

I'm just sayin'.

OK...if you say so...sure sounds like a "shut down" to me, I didn't read a word out of him to counter your facts. [winking]

Isn't it crazy that little Donnie will lose despite the economy? That just tells you how much Americans loathe him.

I agree that this economy will probably get Grumpy Trumpy elected again, but there’s more to running a nation. And I don’t think he’s been as good on foreign policy as his loyalists do. All else he’s been pretty bad at, imo. Still waiting to see headway on prison reform though.

There is a difference in bending over to kiss asses around the world and governing by strength. Trump letting other countries that the US won"t pay the bill for watching over their asses..........Yea.....

There is a lot more weakness than to want to admit, yea.

But, please go on record. Should the fed cut rates at the end of the month?

Cutting rates is just going to fuel the economy. Even the fed chair said cutting them goes against tradition based on the numbers.

Oh hell, ......... I have no idea, and would not even pretend to know if I thought I did. I am not an expert economist now nor have I ever been. I believe this is a strong economy for many reasons, and see no reason to believe otherwise. The only reason that would give me pause and possibly reconsider is if some of you left wing Liberals, and many in the media began to believe that was the case as well. The only thing I am certain of Junior, is the older I get, the more realize the less I know.

Fed's Rosengren says interest rate cut not needed

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/feds-rosengren-says-interest-rate-cut-not-needed-2019-07-19

excerpt:
Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren on Friday said he doesn’t think an interest-rate cut is needed at the moment.

“Most of the news that we’ve been getting has been pretty good,” Rosengren said, in an interview on CNBC.
“The U.S. economy is not at that point. The economy is actually quite reasonable at this stage,” he said.

“I don’t want to ease if the economy is doing perfectly well without that easing,” he added.

...then there is the other view that cutting rates will happen because it will help expand current growth.

Fed Officials signal Quarter-point rate cut likely at July meeting

https://www.wsj.com/articles/fed-of...t-rate-cut-likely-at-july-meeting-11563559491

excerpt:
Market expectations of a half-point Fed cut swelled Thursday afternoon after New York Fed President John Williams delivered a speech expounding upon 20 years of theory and practice that indicates more aggressive and pre-emptive action is warranted when the economy is weakening at a time that interest rates are already low.

The real question that Democrat Presidential candidates should be asked is why would your proposals advocating more Socialism make this economy perform better than it is right now?
