I don't think he was a fit on the new DL.
He could possibly play OT because of his height.
But OLmen and DLmen are different.
Their personalities.
Think WV ends up with the RB from Bluefield.

Looks like Brewster and Mack Brown are bringing him in to get Johnson.
Johnson is legit. Maybe the best CB next year. Will be recruited by everyone.

They are lying to Martin if they are telling him he will play DE. Doesn't have the agility. He is a space eater.
But it is the oldest trick. You bring in a fringe player because he is good friends with an elite player.
Watch him transfer if UNC doesn't get Isaiah Johnson.

Considering Va. Tech is an hour or less drive from Bluefield, it's pretty much understandable. With UNC only 2 hours from Bluefield. I would say they see more ACC games than they do Big 12 games or WVU.

Been hearing that is pretty much West Virginia.

I had my rear end kicked at Tank Memorial Stadium back in the day. I'm still trying to tackle Coy Bacon's nephew, who at about 230 pounds, made it a habit of running over defensive backs in the old SEOAL. The Fightin' Tigers were no joke.

They've had a couple of running backs go to MU but never really got into the rotation for the Herd! Obviously Mark Snyder was a good player for us, hard hitting safety which he learned over at Tank field! Another tough place to get a call if you're the visitor!

Ironton came up because of Reid Carrico.
People were saying that Ironton was pretty much West Virginia.

Ohio State currently has no players from Ironton on their roster. Neither does WVU. So whoever told you Ironton was pretty much WVU was wrong.

I'm pretty sure that Snyder quarterbacked the Ironton team that cleaned our clocks, but the Tigers' running backs left more of a lasting impression.

People in that part of Ohio closer to KY and WV than let us say Akron or Columbus.

Ironton has a legit 2021 LB. Don't know if WVU offered him yet but he has the athletic ability and the football IQ to potentially become a NFL level LB.

I've only known FBS players from Ironton over the last 50 years to attend OSU or MU! If they're really a hot commodity they wear the scarlet and grey! Maybe OU is picking up some these days.
