China has additional tariffs aimed at us and neither of us will budge anytime soon. Anyone think markets will magically stabilize on their own or is this going to be a long slow bleed?

I usually don't post on daily market threads but this is more than that. We can easily see a 10% or more off the highs set a week or so ago. For a short time investor, time to get out has passed. For most non-agricultural businesses and investors, after a time period and a trade deal in which these tariffs are removed, the public will be used to these higher prices and businesses will not reduce their prices. They never do. It is an opportunity to gouge consumers and is somewhat planned and understood by the scum that are pushing for these tariffs. So for long term investors, the market will rebound but there will be definite industries one will want to focus on over others. The situation is very fluid and many different paths could be taken.

There’s no magic involved. Buy equities (company stock) in well run corporations that are reasonably priced and you will make $$$$$ over the long term. If you are are concerned about the short term, see a fortune teller.

When has Apple been reasonably priced?
Even 5 years ago it could be had for $85. Quite frankly? I still think its reasonably priced. Probably going to dip down a little longer, but will explode once this insane trade war ends. Just a matter of timing. I'll holla when I pull the trigger.

Its priced for funds. If you want buy it that is fine but I dont see apple as a cutting edge company any more.

You're talking to the wrong person 79eer about stocks and investments. That poster doesn't have any investments or property, or asset gains, or losses or even a stock portfolio on a 250K income! :scream:

How do I know this? Because the poster you responded to said they filed a 250K return this year with ZERO itemized deductions! No schedule A, no schedule B, no schedule C, no schedule D, no schedule E, no schedule SE, no schedule C/EZ, no schedule 3....zippo...no investment income, no losses, no dividends, not even a penny in deductions to charity! Nada!!!!!!

A cheapskate as well as a financial neophyte. Don't waste your time talking stocks with that poster, it's like discussing quantum physics with a 2 year old.

I'm going back in tomorrow looking for bargains. Lots of 'em out there too! Durable goods, transportation/logistics, agriculture (particularly corn, wheat, & soybeans) energy, technologies (so many bargains in tech stocks) and real estate. Scoop up those bargains...next run up on the leading indexes will be HUGE......$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$[thumbsup]

Stocks suffer biggest one-day loss since Jan. 3 as U.S.-China tariff fight escalates

Dow ends the day down 618 points after dramatic day of losses

All of this self-inflicted and unnecessary.

Still 479 points lower than it was a week ago. You're rolling in the earnings. I can't believe you walked right into that one. Damn!
So you are suggesting the market has fluctuated? Now imagine if you had bought yesterday and gained 355 points till today. You would appear smart.

Appear being the key word.

He should strive harder for appearences. It is going to require something he is incapable of performing, shutting the *** up.
