Tiger Woods to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom today. He would join Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Charlie Sifford as golfers who've also received the honor.
Was it some sort of adultery award, from one adulterer to another?
What is the problem here? All you racist bigots just mad that a person of color would receive such a high honor?
Let's discuss the absurdity of this:
- Tiger plows into a fire hydrant and then a tree at 2:25 am while clearly not in a position to drive. In doing so, he puts others at risk of getting hurt/killed.
- Tiger gets caught paying tons of girls for sex. Hey, no problem with that. However, he also did it while cheating on his wife and children. I have a bit of an issue with that. He also brought some of those whores into the house that his children live in. I have a major problem with that.
- Tiger gets arrested for being under the influence of drugs while driving just 1.5 years ago. His car had damage on it from hitting something, and he was found parked in the middle of a street in the early morning hours. Again, he is putting the safety of others in jeopardy. I have a huge issue with that.
- By numerous accounts, Tiger is a piece of **** as a person to children.
- Tiger, obsessed with Navy Seals, requests to meet a group of them for lunch. However, after they agree to his request, he sticks them with the bill even though he is worth nearly $1 billion.
- Numerous reports state that Tiger, even though worth nearly $1 billion, is an awful tipper.
- A person who was very close to him publicly has lambasted him for being petty, mean-spirited, invasive, and pretty much a piece of ****.
But yeah, let's give him a civilian award from the president.
I also believe it is a high honor and well deserved. Tiger made many mistakes during his marriage. As I have said many times on here, I believe he has fully redeemed himself with his actions after those incidents. Yes, he had a DUI with prescription drugs but I don't believe he is an abuser. It was during a time of terrible medical issues and yet another mistake. But he handled it well. He is not a perfect person.
He has done a lot more good in life than his few personal mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes; it is how one stands up and handles the mistakes that matter to me.

You must have missed the parts about cheating on his wife, screwing over his children, bringing slvts into the home of his children, putting innocent lives at risk by driving while fvcked up on drugs, stiffing a group of Navy Seals with the bill after he requested to have lunch with them, having his close associates talk about what a piece of **** as a person he is . . .

Really, explain how making that type of excuse is "handled it well." Handling it well would have been immediately and profusely apologizing, admitting it was an awful decision that deserves serious repercussions and could have impacted the lives of many people, and then checked into a treatment center. Instead, he made a bogus excuse for his actions to blame it on simply a bad reaction to something he wasn't doing bad.

He doesn't know when the DUI arrest was either. It was Memorial Day weekend 2017. That is almost 2 years.
It is easy to bash Tiger. Lot to bash him on. I don't deny that but in my eyes, he has redeemed himself. Others can have a different opinion but as I always say on this board, use facts or the opinion is worthless.
Tiger was a ********. A lot of stories about how he changed during his trials and it was obvious when he made his master run and also at the FED EX cup final win last year that a lot of the players were pulling for him.
Seems like an American success story. Trump honored him. Trump didnt get that one wrong.
I've never been a Tiger fan. This past Masters is only the second time I've rooted for him in a major. I do recognize his ability and all the good he has done with his foundation and 1st tee. I also recognize the class he has shown his ex-wife and how he handled his controversies. Doesn't take away his bad acts but I appreciate how he has acted during the dark times and many athletes don't behave that way, much less someone that is such a celebrity as well.
We are all flawed. Some more than others. By Gods grace we have a shot to redeem ourselves.
