Indeed. I think it's quite likely that they see the light of day before he's back in the private sector in January 2021.
No big deal to me........life will still go on as usual. You you pulling for in 2020......Beto,Biden or Booker?

Duh. He's hid them since before he got elected and is still hiding them. Only a Dem sponsored subpoena is going to get them made public or at least released to authorized congresspersons.
I’m going to bet they don’t have the authority to subpoena tax returns from when he was a private citizen.

I don't think they'd learn anything from them.
I’m also willing to bet his tax returns have been scrutinized to the enth degree by Mueller and every IRS person who has access. It wouldn’t surprise me if the DOJ/FBI, and everyone else in the sphere of Obama’s admin poured over them during the election cycle.

If he hasn’t been indicted for tax fraud, he isn’t going to be.

Disagree.
Like what? He doesn’t donate to charity as much as he claims? His net worth is less than he says? No chance anyone other than my attorney, CPA, and the IRS get to see my filings.

I doubt all that, I just think it's pretty overrated as a source of information.

You can ascertain a ton from tax filings about his business deals. But that isn't why he doesn't want to have them in public. Two reasons and I guarantee these are the two main reasons. It will expose he isn't as wealthy as he claims and no doubt in my mind there are irregularities filed in which will lead to other embarrassing and legal exposures.

I work with individual tax returns all day long....I struggle to understand how a tax return can differentiate between a person's net worth being between $1bn and $5bn. What one makes in a year or over a series of years does not predict or dictate net worth.

Honestly....what do you think you would find?
From the returns alone, I want to see who he is paying interest to and what business deals he is writing off. Both are important to the country from their president. Need to see all supporting returns from all the various partnerships and business dealings. Will be more than just his 1040

So you want the business returns, not the personal. I think that's fair.

ETA - I don't think they should be made public.

I have spoken practically nothing on the investigations going on 2 years and will continue. But there appears to be some circumstantial evidence that has been made public that is very concerning with his financial dealings. I find it very appropriate they get investigated and am very fine not seeing his information. But the appropriate parties should at this point.

Would this not be covered on his Financial Disclosure forms?

BTW - if not.....that seems like a pretty glaring flaw in the system.
Not necessarily as I understand it. Yes, imo there are huge flaws in the disclosures.

Eh. I still don't know how much you'd get off the returns. It's not like you have to disclose WHO loaned you the money on the return. There are some boxes to check on foreign bank accounts and such. I will admit....I don't do many billionaire tax returns or multi-national business returns.

Probably better to subpoena financial records from Trump Inc, or whatever the f that place is called.

You make very good points. I'm aware of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies that have the ability to take the smallest amount of legitimate financial information and decipher a ton out of it. Again, in my opinion that is what he is most afraid. In addition of getting information on his personal and business dealings, it will expose some very creative accounting going on. They would cross reference that information with other financial submissions and WHAM. It is exactly what Manafort is convicted on. Many others are snarled in it every day in this country.

Do you think they didn’t go through that stuff during the SC investigation? It would seem to me that would all be fair game to prove collusion.

No word but I'm doubtful. I think Mueller would pass that off to another agency to investigate. Now whether it is currently being investigated, I won't guess.

He is hiding his tax returns? The IRS doesn't agree with you. It's not up to President Trump to release the SC report. You're the one foaming at the mouth anytime our elected President farts.

Of course he is, f'ucking moron.
