Probably won’t play. He looked stiff necked tonight on bench. Fluke injury. Such a shame because he was getting better and was so close to taking the starting point guard spot for next 3 years. McCabe got better by getting all the minutes without having to look over his shoulder last 2 games. He and Knapper both need these minutes.
Knapper would have scored 50 points in 55 minutes and 3 overtime’s. McCabe stats were more of him getting all those minutes and 3 overtimes. Knapper just needs confidence too.
I think emerging Knapper and McCabe may force Beetle out next year. Beetle is not a point guard and is not a good starter. Beetle is only good as 6th man off bench.

IF I could just say this. Knapper scores 25 against OU, then disappears, but he is the saviour. McCabe gets 20+ against TCU and he might be ok. IF Knapper had played last night he would have scored 50. Just want to be sure I've got pride's thinking straight.
Huggins would be crazy to run Knapper off. He hasn’t deserved a fair shot. Knee injury last year then blood clot in lung.....kid never even had a full offseason yet. Huggins will need him.

MountaineerWV when did Huggs say that? That’s only if Knapper isn’t medically cleared to play rest of regular season with his current sprained neck.
Is that why Horton launched a 3 ball into the 3rd row missing the entire back board.
Horton scored quickly. The 2nd attempt whatever. He can shoot the 3. Horton would score 30 if he played 55 minutes in 3 overtime’s. He beat out Doomes and is forcing him out. Horton will pass up Harler next year in rotation. Huggs will have no choice. Horton is going to play a lot here if he stays.
Gunny46 it’s all about reps and experience. If Horton got Haley and Harler minutes all year he would be much better. His only issue now is that he doesn’t know sets and system as well. That will change next year.
If Horton sticks around and works hard he will see the floor a lot next year. He beat Doomes out and will pass up Harler next year. Word straight from a assistant coach is that he has schooled all guards on team since arriving last summer. He just needs to learn how to execute system. That will come next year.

Horton walked in here and ate Doomes alive. I knew he would. Doomes was a reach recruit. Should have just gave that scholarship to Horton. Anybody who followed Horton in high school in WV knew he was better than just about every other guard we have. Time will show this. Next year he will be in rotation easy.
It's Knapper would score 50 + or Horton would 30 + ... could they contribute more with more experience yes ... cut down on the hyperbole and people may want to discuss wvu sports with you more ... if that's your goal ?

Let me see now...three guys you think can't play the game are McCabe, Harler and Routt...humm all three are of the same race. Could it be that you believe guys of a certain profile aren't good basketball players? I think I'm beginning to see your agenda there NoPrideNeverRight.
How long are you going to use Knapper's 25 points against OU? What has he done since? I hope you're not using that as collateral for a loan.

I said McCabe is done unless he steps up. It’s crazy it took all those guys being out to get opportunity. Knapper had him beat out. Good for McCabe. We needed him to step up and show something. We can’t have too many misses. We don’t need to get rid of too many. We need guys we can grow with. McCabe is one of them now. Knapper already showed he is one of them. There is 2 guards we need to keep. They will get better.

Huggs should have repped Knapper and McCabe at point guard more in November and December. Beetle and Haley should have played 2 guard spot more. Huggs didn’t help Knapper or McCabe enough like he should have. He needed to bring them along faster and better. Let them learn to swim earlier.
These coaches and so called leaders are not always right. I think his 860 has a lot to do with just simply coaching a lot of years. He has no national title and his Cincinnati teams often busted 1st round. He runs WVU into ground every 4-5 years. A lot of his early success at WVU was him being younger, sharper but also Belien handed him a excellent group of players and a good program.
Huggins has a staff of guys that should be coaching in grade school. Harrison and Martin are absolutely the worst 2 dumbasses to ever land D1 assistant jobs.

In spproxiamently 40 years of being a head basketball coach this may be Bob Huggins 3rd losing season. So when you look at the big picture in life you may be able to see why he has coached for so long. Only a small number of Head Coaches in the history of the game can say that EVER. That's why he has Coached so many years because he is winner. Now you are correct about about him not being perfect however he did get WVU to a final 4 something that's only happened once in our history. So when you take into consideration all the cheating going on in NCAA and when you look at all the top programs that have won national championships to be followed with investigations, sanctions, and probation I am proud of what Coach Huggins has accomplished here without being dragged into all that. Now no leader or Coach is going to be perfect a simple google search will show the top coaches and programs in the country have losing season or two including Duke and a whole lot of them are being investigated by the FBI and NCAA right now. Understanding the big picture allows alot of us to understand we are struggling this year due to injuries and youth and yes a few coaching mistakes. However out of me, you, and Coach Bob Huggins only one of us has every Coached his team as a head coach to two final fours or any NCAA level game for that matter. Team will be much better next year ! Why ? Because we have a coach that can fix it ! Me and you are not getting the call to do that. Now before responding google hyperbole then take a deep breath and think in the big picture, do I possibly overreact sometimes and the truth may be in the middle somewhere?
