Teacher got paid not to work. I dont care if they ger a raise. Good for them. The kids are losing because they are not in school and now school last 2 days longer.

Are you really that stupid? Do you understand teachers are on salary? A contracted number of days (approx. 185 days per year).....and days missed are made up at the end of the school calendar, just like snow days......

So, your "teachers got paid not to work" is ridiculous......as you are.

I am sure the kids love their day off. They will probably enjoy watching dvds on their 2 extra days as well.

One thing is for sure, when it comes down to whats best for education we should definitely let the kids decide whats best for them.

I drove by a picket group yesterday......I saw a lot of 3,4,and 5 year olds holding up signs.
I'm glad the teachers got a pay raise and the teachers here in Jefferson County need more. They have been fighting for locality pay for years but the flunky Dale Lee and his cohorts have blocked every attempt by the local school board. Lee stated again today that he will NEVER allow locality pay. The shot down bill wanted locality pay as well as a pay difference for certified math teachers....Dale said NO to both.
