Self brag then. My team is working with mobile, cloud, AI, and visual recognition. We will be working directly with a large west coast tech corp on their next technology before it public betas. This effort is for some of the largest brands you know. I can be replaced, but it wouldn't be easy.
Is this 2010?

Congrats mod. Hope this doesn't cut in to your football coachin! I'm still looking at 3rd homes from this last tax simplification/cut.

They didn't get anything.

The bill is most likely dead. They have 24 hours to reconsider the indefinite postponement...but most likely it's dead. They got everything.

Now, the state legislature needs to do this properly if they want to make meaningful changes. Sit down with various representatives in education and discuss meaningful and positive changes to improve education, which they should have done to begin with.

Correct. This legislation also had language that would have allowed teachers to take tax credits on school supplies purchased for their classroom.

Back to square one I guess, but you can bet that Carmichael is going to make any new legislation even less attractive to teachers now.

Not sure why there would be any legislation this term. Standard quo it is.

So, if teachers don't like "competition", then why does Trump have tariffs right now? Do American businesses not like competition?

In states that cannot afford much teacher raises, like West Virginia, I wonder why there can't be something worked out for huge tax incentives/breaks for anyone looking to teach in this state? For example, exempt from property taxes? Something like that to counter the inability to raise wages. For f**k's sake, we allow corporations to rape our tax laws and they profit billions.
The WV repubs tried something like that when they gained control of the state legislature as well as locality pay for select county school boards.....Guess what......the Teachers Unions shoot it all down.

If parents want a better education, they have choices dumbsh!t without charter schools pulling away from the public school. They can do any of the following:

1. Pay for a tutor after school
2. Get involved with the school as a tutor
3. Home school their child
4. Become a responsible parent and force their child to learn like we all did.
5. Go to college, become a teacher, and show everyone how easy it is
The WV schools targeted for the test charters were in poor predominantly African American neighborhoods. I seriously doubt most of the parents have the means or resources to do what you suggest.
You seriously think this redneck bunch below...would support trying to help African American schools improve?

bunch of scared teachers...

threatened by the possibility of opening charter schools...

charter school success would expose them as frauds...

Yeah, charter school that would have the same faculty pool that the public school would have to choose from. Big change there!

Yeah. Id say the schools themselves will hire qualified teachers because it is actually in their interest to draw students to go to their school so the quality of teachers will matter. Its not rocket science

Considering the superintendents of 54 counties permitted them to do this, fill out that form all you want because there isn't anyone getting "terminated" for this.

WVU82 is triggered. Love it.

Of course not. And the next time they want something they will point the gun at the kids heads again and get what they want. (Figurative gun at figurative childs heads for you slow ones.)

Are charter schools the "fix" to public education? Those 40+ states, they all have high achieving scores?
Colorado does, and the charter my kid attends currently ends at 8th grade. They have statistics that back up the fact that kids from the charter perform better in the same high schools than kids who went through the regular public system for K-8. Honestly, the only thing I'm missing is a bus system, and the school is on my way to work anyway. I just drop my daughter off every morning.

You realize that the "rankings" aren't on the teachers entirely, right? There are other things that result in poor scores.
No it's not all on the teachers. It's a lot of factors......including the union that fights ANY progressive efforts and ideas and the "business as usual" county and state school boards that fight against new forward thinking reform. That's the same crowd that comes up with the same ol mantra to deflect and beat down progressive change......"let us decide what's best for WV schools"and "throw the out of state folks out". My anwser to that is simple.....that bullsh*t hasn't worked, that's why we rank 48th.

Your side lost. I understand why you're mad.
My side didnt lose. I dont have a side. You were wrong again. I understand why you want to deflect the thread away from that. It hurts you deep. Pardon me while I chuckle.
