Wow, Trump threatened Pelosi on ending investigations

and it sure backfired. House committees are on steroids starting up a ton of new investigations. Obviously, wingnuts will view them as partisan and dems will view it as long overdue. Regardless, you shake a hornets nest, you will get stung.

Narrator: They'd already promised they were going to do nothing but investigate.

So just coincidence one day after making a threat during the SOTU, all these new and serious investigations have popped up? Including a couple that I personally haven't heard too much about being a priority.

Yep, your perspective is typical spin.

The Libs in Congress were so mad that they pulled an all-nighter and launched multiple investigations the next day. Or, like most political tactics, they started planning this the day after they knew they took control of Congress. I am happy to believe either.

I'm guessing a little of both but the former is very apparent. Trump "wins" again spouting off another threat against Pelosi.

"House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) sent a letter to the White House announcing an investigation into the Trump team’s shoddy handling of the security clearance process. Just a couple hours later, House Foreign Affairs Chairman Eliot Engel (D-NY) said his committee will look into whether Trump’s tangled network of business dealings are influencing foreign policy decisions. It’s a logical choice for an investigation. We already know that Trump’s D.C. hotel is a conduit for foreign money, particularly Saudi Arabian money, to make its way to Trump. Also, Trump is disturbingly willing to go easy on Saudi Arabia, even after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi was likely personally ordered by that country’s crown prince. Also on Wednesday, we learned that House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) and House Financial Services Chair Maxine Waters (D-CA) are teaming up to dig into Deutsche Bank."

All last week

But please do go on about how this was a reaction to Trump.

Does anyone take his "threats" serious? He is who he is (def not a dealmaker).

The House investigates now. This dem controlled House was going to investigate every aspect of that crook's life anyway.

I agree. I'm just talking the coincidence of his threat one night and a bunch of new investigations the next. I guess you are also taking my one point and going a different direction like THE.

Not sure how "I win again" is considered a threat, but yea, if you look at the polls post SOTU the right loved it. The left did not (but still had a 30% approval rating) but the kicker was 80% for independents. In todays political world, the Independents will decide the next election and Trump at least for one night, took the field.

It's funny... for all the talk about the lack of civil discourse, especially in politics... none of it matters if we just get Trump. So let's use House and Congressional resources to investigate every personal aspect of his life and hope that we can find something... anything... to impeach him. Brilliant.

That I have no idea, but at a minimum Bru does.
Yes, comparing war to investigations in his speech was a threat. He also made another stupid remark about partisan investigations. The three russian investigations are not partisan. But doesn't matter what I think; Pelosi and the House members received it a certain way. Watch the news; they are saying such.

I wasn't doubting anything, just responding to questions posed to me ITT. I did not watch or read about the SOTU

Funny how @WVUCOOPER doesn't call this out, yet at every turn over the last year he called them partisan.
Huh? The House investigations are partisan and a joke. They have been for YEARS. The Senate does a much better job and of course I actually respect the FBI, Special Counsel, etc. I've said as much about the House already ITT.

I know. I included your comment and probably should've used mntneer as my comment was on the question whether anyone felt Trump made threats. My bad on posting protocol

I didn't take it as a threat, I took it as a statement of reality. If you're spending time on investigations, you aren't spending time negotiating and drafting legislation. I guess you can let the special interest groups handle that part.

What you perceived as a threat, I perceived as a whine and complaint.

And to think that House actions in relationship to investigations are due to reaction to the SOTU is preposterous. They're desperate to get rid of him, find any grounds to justify impeachment and would have maintained this course regardless of what he said Tuesday.

LOL.

Great, semantics. Good to know you view a president's behavior to "whine and complain" during the SOTU being perfectly fine and normal.

smh

Let's not pretend Trump and House dems have much, if any, desire to work together. Same as Obama and House republicans. Is it just going to be 2 years of whining? FFS.

LOL.... you don't understand what semantics are do you. What you think about the President's speech does not make it so.

And yes.... my comments clearly state that I accepted what Trumps said as being perfectly fine and normal.

Trump had no idea the three branches of Government are equal, lol, imagine having to defend that buffoon every day on here? He certainly sounds like a man with alot to hide when he tweets out to his twits.

It was a good speech. Let's see actions that reflect those words.

They campaigned on it. It’s not spin, you’re just lacking in information or were willfully ignorant to what they were promising to do.

You seem to say this quite often, to many different people. Perhaps the problem lies with you, and not your readers.
Very possible.......but no, not on this subject as you and your ilk do it in almost every thread.

Deny, deflect and spin. Been seeing it for almost 20 years on here. It isn't new.
