Not me! I'm glad she's out there. I think she's just what we on the Right need to smoke out folks on the Left who refuse to admit that she expresses what they really believe and what they really want. The more she exposes their true beliefs and desires, the better off we will be in having bold colors of choice instead of pale pastels.

She's the best thing to happen for us on the Right since Maxine Waters! Ol Maxine has provided us uncounted numbers of additional new voters. This chick is on her way to even beating Maxine's Republican voter registration power. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It'd be like me thinking Louie Ghomert could help Democrats, but then he isn't a Freshman. Did Obama help the right? lol I'd be more worried about what our President is doing to his party than how ya'lls fear of a freshman from New York is gonna help him.

70% of YOUR money. First, next to nobody reading that post would even qualify for the tax (so not sure where YOUR comes from) and secondly, it would be 70% after XX millions is earned in a year. Look, I do alright for myself but her tax plan would never effect me. Yeah, it would tax the hell out of anyone earning more than $15 million in a year. That is where the tax would kick in. Yet, some working man somewhere thinks she is after 70% of his paycheck. More manipulation of the uninformed.

There aren't enough millionaires to pay for all the "free" stuff she's promising and pretty soon she's going to run out of rich people to tax and come after your crumbs and you're not sending in any extra right now are ya? Unless you work for the Government in a non essential job I'll bet your boss was rich. That's why he was able to hire YOU!

Fair point. Supply side likely works in a percentage of employment but the majority of who we are talking about at these tax levels are C suite executives in public corporations. There salaries and bonuses have no bearing on hiring people, if anything, it bites into it. My employment is not contingent if our CEO makes $15 million or $1 million. Employment here (and most corporations) is based on revenue and need.

Correct. However it's the millionaires she wants to soak who provide a large percentage of the investment capital needed to either start most companies or help them expand. My job and yours is primarily dependent on our customers who buy our products. The more of those folks who are rich with disposable incomes...the more secure my job becomes and the bigger my company grows.

My not debating the efficacy of her plan. I’m not a high tax guy as long as they are equitably distributed on real feel—which they are not. My post was on the misinformation posted on who and what would be taxed at 70%.

You would do yourself a favor to look up who pays the majority of taxes in this country currently. When you look at the total amount of revenue collected and the relatively small percentage of high-income earners who are providing the majority of that revenue, it's hard to argue they're not paying enough.

Her proposal is not only stupid it is unworkable. No one who is smart enough to earn 10 million dollars in any given year would be stupid enough to send 70% of it into the government! The fact so many people think that's even a reasonable suggestion goes to show you how poorly educated most folks are about economics.

Including the dolt who proposed such lunacy.

Investments, i.e. capital gains, don't fall into that 70% bracket. That's on earned income. Your point about how this impacts investments is weak. This is almost literally a one-year tax on lottery winnings. I agree that it won't fund much of anything. It would have impacted something like 16k filings last year. The majority of those folks would find a way around that, mainly because they can afford to. Either that or because they have Coop on speed dial.

Mule...what do you think people who have money to invest do with it? Are gains on investments or dividends on shares or sales on assets not counted as income? C'mon my Man you're smarter than this. Besides, just as you correctly point out, who the Hell sends in 70% of whatever they earn however they earn it in any one year to Uncle Sam?
