When we stomped them 70-33, Clemson had the balls to fire their DC and get Venables. The rest is history.

Clemson's D played good.

But...
You have to give credit where credit is due.
Lincoln Riley found the weakness with Bama and Clemson exploited it.
Bama didn't do anything to fix it from last game

Bama's D was horrible.

This forced Bama to abandon the run.

You saw in the first half how overrated Brent Venables is.

Never seen a DC get so much credit when he has been exposed so many times.

Like what they said...

Venables knows how it feels to get blown out in the NC game

Yup. Clemson was at a crossroads and made a bold move. I feel we are in a similar spot.

Umm...he’s not going up against Holgorsen in that game. Saban is likely the best coach ever. I’m not convinced he’s going to be a great head coach, but Venables ate Saban’s lunch in that second half. Any other statement is idiotic.

I’d like to see Clemson investigated by a real NCAA. I’m not believing their recent success is from running a clean program

They have an energetic younger coach who attracts players and the program ponies up top notch money for assistants, which a lot of programs refuse to do. He also had the balls to make changes such as firing his DC.

Dabo is a better coach than Saban
Some Bama fans want to make the move.
Time for Saban to retire.

Bama became one dimensional.
Bama's offense is not that great if they don't run the ball.
Very much like Georgia.

Clemson Ole Missed Bama last night.
Put up a lot of points on them

For god sakes lol. Saban is the greatest of alltime. When Dabo wins 5 more NCs we can talk.

Based on ONE game? Really?
Clemson destroyed Alabama. No doubt. Clemson's defense confused and confounded Tua. No doubt.
But one of only 2 coaches in history with 6 national titles overnight becomes second-rate coach? There goes your credibility.
Every coach has his nightmare game. Saban had his on Monday.
I guess you figure Bear Bryant was a terrible coach, too.
Give Dabo credit. But even Dabo wouldn't trash Saban. That's because Dabo has more class.

No one called Saban second rate

Plus you cannot compare NC.
NC before the BCS were much different than the BCS and NC with the CFP are much different.

Great college coaches never had the chance to win NC as the #4 team prior to the CFP.

Saban is a great coach.
The best coach ever is quite a reach.
Especially when he was been outcoached a couple of times by one man

If you are going to hide what Bama did under the rug...

Use the correct narrative.
Bama felt like they didn't belong there.
They should have been in the NFL Playoffs

CFE feels a kinship with Saban.
Nothing wrong with that.

But to call the guy the greatest coach of all time and making it irrefutable.
Is beyond logic.

Put Florida St with a CFP from 1990-2000
Put USC with a CFP from 2002-2009

Both Bowden and Pete Carroll would have a few more NC.

So saying Saban is better them either one because of NC is a reach.
Especially because they did not compete with the same parameters

Not a stretch at all. CFE is right. Besides you don't know jack crap about the game...or not found on Google. Besides, because he supports Saban that somehow means it is based only on Saban's WV roots? You are a blowhard dude and a FakeTexasDude to boot.

You should look out for CFE more often instead of attacking him

I'm normally agree with you, Root, but not here. CFE's man love for "Brother Nick" is sickening and legendary.

Saban and TeamSEC need to stop playing big boy football and play some grown man football.

Saban and Kirby Smart had their teams pushed around.

then they would never play the Big 12-2=10 flag football style.

This is funny.
Clemson hired a Big XII coach in Chad Morris to start their offense under Tajh Boyd.
Clemson still plays the same style of offense.

You must use speed as well as power.
A hybrid of power football and the AirRaid.

I would love to hear
Where they don't use 3-5 WRs packages and the QB out of the shotgun.

It is taking over the NFL as well now.

But in the NFL. You can use different personal a lot easier.
You can go from 5WRs to 3 TEs.

But a lot of teams are using what you call flag football as their base offense in the NFL.

You have to attack down field.

Alabama's biggest issue was their boundary safety couldn't cover.

WV and Dana exploited the same thing in the Big XII.

A lot of teams don't have boundary or run support safties that can cover vertically down field.

This is why both Alabama and Clemson changed QBs.

This is why WV needs Jack Allison to develop into a QB and not just an arm.

Will Grier could attack almost every inch of the field.

Call it flag football....
Truthfully it is the development and evaluation of the game

I'm a firm believer in defensive lineman and their ability to completely change a game, Clemson's DL was dominant last night.

Alabama still put a lot of offense on Clemson.
A few balls bounce Bama's way it is a different story.

The biggest takeaway is what Clemson did to Alabama's D.

They converted on third down
Ran the ball well.

Did what Ole Miss/Hugh Freeze and what Ohio St with Tom Herman did.

Forced Bama to cover all over the field .
Move the ball well. Converted on third down.

When Bama put their safties back gashed them with run plays .

Your football IQ is zero...

You can't just line up and push people off the line and expect to score a lot of points against similar competition.

After awhile you might break the will of a defense.

But...

Most good DC see that as vanilla.

Listen to DC's and what type of offenses they fear.

They fear offenses that can exploit their secondary

Then they have to move safties back and teams can run all over them.

Saban is a great coach. A legend of the game.

But is he the greatest coach of all time..
Possibly. That is not a for sure thing.

He may not even be better than Dabo.
Clemson has half the money Bama does
Clemson doesn't have the name
Clemson is where it is at right now because of Dabo.
Plus Bama recruits much better than Clemson.
To say Saban is head and shoulders better than Dabo would not be all the way true.

I don’t mind most of what you say, but that is just stupid to say it is “a reach” to call Saban the best ever.

As for losing to Dabo, He and Dabo are 2-2 against each other. Dabo may one day be called the best ever, but that is not today.

However, MOST do call Saban the best ever. I am not saying you have to agree that he is the best, but to suggest he is “a reach” is just nonsense on your part. Seriously, you just make yourself look foolish.

Who is most?

The same people who get on TV to sell a product
LeBron is the greatest ever
Tom Brady is the greatest ever.
Alabama was the Greatest Team ever before they loss

When you promote something as historically superior people pay attention.

You can't have the greatest ever in almost every sport at the same time.

Who’s got the record for most NC’s. Answer = Saban and Bear Bryant. So yes, he’s at least 1 of the 2 greatest ever.

You are comparing Apples to Oranges.

Even 2 of Bear Bryant's NC are suspect.
1964 was Arkansas
1973 was ND

Nick Saban has one undefeated NC. The rest are with one loss.

Nick Saban is the best coach during the CFP era .
But I think Dabo probably equaled him last night.

Right now Saban is the best, hands down. But he does have the resources and rabid fan bases / boosters. Tuscaloosa, AL ain't the garden spot, but he has a pipeline developed to the NFL.
