I think he would come back. I am sure many WVU fans would open up too him coming home again. Give him his old job back plus all of the pepperoni Rolls he can eat and a wing ole card and a nice dinner at Crockett's . Bring Rich Rod home

That would actually be a top-notch, out of the park hire by WVU, if they ever find themselves needing a football coach. His style of football is definitely in-line with the Big 12 brand. Actually, I was thinking about it yesterday, when I saw you were in need of an OC. RichRod could be a great hire as OC. That would basically be getting a decent chunk of the old gang back. Rich at OC, with his buddy at DC.

Can WVU afford to hire Rod as OC? I'm guessing he would want to make about 1.5 million. Plus, you would have a great 'coach-in-waiting' if Dana were to ever bolt to Texas Southern U.

Threads like this are Rorschach tests for who has self-respect and who doesn't. Those that don't want RR back have self-respect and those that want him back don't.

For the people that want RR back I ask you, what would a coach have to do to WVU to make you NOT want him back? This is like when a guy treats his woman like garbage and yet she still wants him around. Have some self-respect and tell the guy to piss off and then move on with your life.

ETA: WVU isn't the best coaching job but if Holgs leaves there will be people, lots of them promising young coaches, lining up for the job. OTOH think for a minute about who would hire RR at this point. Would any other football programs near the level of WVU hire him? I doubt it. Remember, he wasn't booted from Arizona only for not winning enough but for other shennanigans too.

What has he done since he left here for us to want him back? You think he will be able to reproduce what he did here in his stint which he nearly left us for Alabama for and hasn't be able to accomplish at Michigan or Arizona. It's not wether or not he will be accepted back, it's what has he done since?

And open up our AD for millions of dollars in sexual harrassment liability?

I talked with Rich moments ago and he told me was available but needed $10M per year to even think about a return to his homeplace. But, he did admit that he loves WV and WVU. Warez

Been a rabid WV fan since I was 10 years old. That's 59 years now. The day WV hires Rich Rod for anything is the day that loyalty comes to an end. Thankfully I don't think I have to worry.

Slaton and White made Rich Rod. He hasnt done jack since those guys. He cares nothing about defense and his system has been figured out and improved on by others. He was left behind by better coaches in big time football. He should take over for Bowden at Akron or something.

I thought I remember hearing RR was interested in coming back a couple years ago when Dana had a hot seat.

Id be fine with it. Hes a solid coach.

Interested to know any names Lyons would consider.

You are correct, no other schools seem to be interested in him, possibly due to baggage from termination but I think his name carries fatigue.

3 power conference jobs is enough to know if you want him to run your program or not.

I'm sure a job as a toilet cleaner found be found for him. Not welcome as anything higher on the pay scale.

This is how your low self esteem manifests itself. You think you can do no better than the boyfriend who beat you and knocked up your best friend.

Get real? If he's so great, why didn't he succeed at UM or UA?

I’m in no way saying we should bring back RR, but in all fairness, he had UM going in the right direction when he was canned. They went 11-2 and won the Sugar Bowl the year after he was let go. That team was his players. I think he’s damaged goods at this point and will probably never get another Power 5 job but let’s at least be fair. He would have succeeded there, but at programs like Michigan, time is not your friend.
