Dana is desperate to get out of Morgantown. Lubbock is cosmopolitan by comparison.

Lubbock is a piece of s::it of a town. Ugly west Texas armpit. I live in Albuquerque and had to go to Lubbock several times for volleyball tournaments for my youngest daughter. It is not an upgrade. At least Morgantown is close to Pittsburgh for a bigger town experience. Lubbock is at least a 5 hour drive to Albuquerque and much farther to Dallas or Oklahoma City. You couldn’t pay me to live there.
Your judgement goes in question when you referred to Albuquerque as a big city...

Just because a name is thrown into a coaching search doesn't mean that anyone involved is interested
It shows just how much Dana doesn’t believe in West Virginia football that he is willing to go to a school that is not even in the top 50 in the history of college football. West Virginia stands at the 13th winningest program with top-notch facilities. We may not be a top 10 destination but we are certainly top 25 and Texas Tech is not even in the top 40 maybe 50 jobs. Successful Coaches leave wvu for Michigan and Alabama and Florida State, not for third tier power 5 teams. The fact that Dana got turned down demonstrates how everyone else knows he’s not only not a tier 1 coach, but he’s barely adequate for a tier 2 like wvu.
TVZ, I'd agree with this. We know Leach had and still has issues with TTU and DH would never seem disloyal to Leach. Also I don't think poaching from another Big Xii team is good practice. AD wouldn't do it. Agent issues are an as yet unproven hypothesis but highly likely.
The Big XII would frown on it because the Big XII will most likely extend the GOR.
Meaning that the conference needs to renegotiate its TV rights.
Brent Venables was who everyone wanted because it would hurt Clemson and it would give Tech a great coach.
Venables is the reason why Clemson is good and not Dabo...

You couldn't be more wrong. Jim Carlen and his staff left WVU to take jobs at Texas Tech.
Little WVU is a feeder school for Texas Tech. Not the other way around.
Ultimately if it is true, no new contract negotiations. Start looking for replacements now. If a great candidate is out there, pounce on them. Otherwise let Dana's contract run until the buy out is worth the replacement coach. It's not like he's flirting with a higher tier school, but rather a lateral move at best which is a slap in the face.

Lubbock is a well documented scum hole west Texas dust bowl. Morgantown is a beautiful, growing, classy WV college city with pretty mountains and all 4 seasons. Morgantown is more expensive than Lubbock as well. Morgantown is getting bigger and more trendy each year. It’s quite nice with great schools. Great place for families. Low crime.
Dana is a ****** head coach. I wish someone was dumb enough to hire him away. I don’t think anybody wants him. That’s the issue.
