I wasn’t implying that your knowledge of the theatre of war was somehow inadequate to have an understanding of the world. How society is structured....and how those structures effect people....is also vital in the process of understanding issues we face.
Dehumanizing and using race (or in this case nationality) as the lightening rod for fear can cause a potentially dangerous social norm of aggression towards Latinos (we are seeing it with the Muslim faith). Stereotypes actively group people together and diminish their individuality and that has a dehumanizing effect.
But I’m sure you see all the above as fluff. Yet we’ve seen in in the past with regards to the Irish and Italians in US society. As individualism prevails, and stereotypes fade, the tendency to use those ethnicities as scapegoats for society’s ills fades equally.
History repeats itself. That's a fact. Roman Empire conquered lands, referred to all those that were not of Greek or Roman heritage as "Barbarian" and what ended up happening? Oh, yeah.........

Many in that caravan have legitimate cause for asylum. Many in that caravan might be perfectly willing to wait to be processed legitimately otherwise. These are mostly (if not entirely) decent people looking for work and a better life. They think they can find it in the US......why demonize them? Why act like this type of desire (or even the caravan specifically) is a vicious threat to our sovereignty? Is an immigrant naturalized not just as much an American as you?

One post was about dissecting racism and a component of sociology, and increasing awareness about how it can effect dangerous social norms. Nothing to do with policy.
The other post was about how my motivation towards policy has nothing to do with race.....unless it’s ensuring Constitutional rights or correcting imbalances of systemic racism (ie: redistricting or affirmative action in college admissions).
To be honest, the fact that you assert that social welfare policy is designed to aid only certain races is a little racist to me.
