You all keep pointing at Nebraska, they were the exception not the rule. And their proximity to Texas and the fact they were a traditional power from old times made it easier on them then us. But look at them the last 15 years and especially since they left big 12 Texas pipeline. They have been much worse than us the last 15 years.
Wvu produces only a handful (on a good year) legit d-1 prospects. We constantly have to go into other schools back yard and either convince them to choose wvu over their hometown team or find diamonds in the rough the hometown team didn’t want.
Dana has done a good job using jucos and transfers to supplement our classes. WVU has always had to do more with less and usually does a decent job of it.

Other than say LA and a few other cities most college programs need to go regionally or nationally to recruit. Most cities may have 3-5 players that can play effectively at the highest levels of college football. Outside of 5-7 states and their programs all other programs need to recruit regionally or Nationally in the case of ND and a few others. Penn State has gotten good again by not recruiting every PA prospect that can chew gum and walk. The irony is the one WV kid that was a no brainer the WV staff passed on. Then the kid stars out at UNC and is in the NFL now. Stop making excuses.

The difference between the 27th ranked class and the 16th rank class isn’t worth wasting time over. Outside of maybe a top 12 class it all comes down to coaching. The BE is now gone so that leaves the shaky Big12. There better be a GOR put in place by 2022-2023 or there could be trouble for the Big12. Texass and Oklahoma could never get their act together as Conference partners. Falls before you aimlessly place the Big12 as number 2 again watch the playoffs to see if a Big12 team is even in the the playoffs and if they ever win a playoff game.
