WV kids get screwed. Camps and summer ball is helping more get recognized now and WVU is realizing they better start getting these boys from WV. Every year going forward we need more WV kids. It will build better depth and talent. That’s why Darius Stills, Dante Stills, Reese Donahue, Pitts, Tonkery, Wesco, punter, kicker, Lindsay, Bonamico, Campbell are all either helping, playing or contributing. They show we need more. Most of those guys listed walked in and saw the field quick here. The Stills boys and Pitts will be stars here. Tonkery is only sophomore and will have a great career here as a 4 year starter.

It was a coaches decision to put the player in the game that didn't execute......[thumbsup]

so a coach teaches the play, works on it with his players, improves the player in question well enough to feel confident to play him, calls the play and said instruction gets the player in wide open space for an easy touchdown.............. and the ball hits the player's hands and falls to the ground......

and somehow you think the coach is at fault?

you're not that simple.... right?

yep I'd bet he does. coach recruits, coaches and decides who will play. any mistakes on the field reflect the guy at the top...in this case coach mediocre.

Ok, two can play this game........dickhead coach decides to attempt a 51-yard FG knowing the FG kicker had no shot......[thumbsup]
"NO SHOT"? As I recall the kick was more than long enough but was just a little to the left. Hardly a kick that had "NO SHOT". Also your bias comes forth when you choose to use a derogatory adjective when leaving it out would carry the exact same message but without the intended dig at the coaching staff. Unnecessary and in horribly poor taste. Do you claim to be a fan/supporter?

I fear you significantly over estimate the reasoning skills of many who spew their nonsense on the forum.

Kick was short and right........and we gave up horrible field position for that decision......

definitely wasn't short.

41 minute mark - https://bluegoldnews.com/west-virgi...-virginia-mountaineers-kansas-state-wildcats/

ref had to look bad to see where it lands, that means it would have been high enough for the cross bar

now, if you want to say it's Dana's fault for not recruiting decent kickers and relying too often on instate walk ons........... I'll buy that. Seems he's finally learned from it with our 2019 class.

But at 51 yards, Staley has said in interviews he's confident out to 53, so Dana clearly saw him make enough to put him out there for 51.

Kick was wide not short.

Grier nearly made a Heisman highlight play that would have been shown a hundred times (taking a snap 20 yards over his head, dancing and firing a touchdown) unfortunately Wesco isn't a good enough player to hold onto a TD pass that hit him in his hands.

Haskins on the other hand had a nice play down the sideline and put his head down to gain more yardage.

It's obvious who the better TE is.

I don't knock players until they're pro's. They've got no excuse at that level. A college kid? He could be having a bad day because he spots the girl he's been going out with having too good a time with another guy in the stands.

Nothing like hormones to throw off a 20 y.o. kid's game. You never know with18-22 year olds from hour to hour, much less game to game.

The WV kid at tight end dropped the 2nd TD catch of his career today

Guy gets about 2 chances to score a TD each season and he drops half of them when they hit his chest plate

Don’t remember it being a normal catch. Think he was laid out at full tilt. Thought he could have had it but pass lead him a bit too far. Can’t fault his effort. Personally I’d give him some more chances.

51:40 mark....... ball hit him in both hands. When it's your job to catch passes............. two hands on it means it 100% should be a catch. No excuses.

Well it just goes to show that Wesco isn't the all-pro playa you are there prickscorner. You carry that remote in real tight for no drops huh? Go get some more pizza and watch the game yet again lol.

Just stop. Why do you embarrass yourself this way? He didn't hold on to a fully extended tough catch Saturday. Nothing bounced off his chest plate.

Why start a thread just to bash one of our guys? We all understand you're just an immature kid, but your constant triggering over WV based athletes is idiotic and infantile.

Pacify the instate kid..... they can do no wrong.

Zero accountability for WV boys

I’m posting an opinion here so feel free to put me on ignore if it troubles you so much.... the video is linked

Right in the hands...... and he has a history of drops among his rare few chances to attempt a catch. Those aren’t opinions

I can understand constructive criticism of a scholarship player if they didn’t play hard or had terrible attitude. But not for coming up short on that play. These players devote too much energy and time to our program and deserve some understanding in a case like this.

As Bob Huggins says, Effort with Execution is just wasted effort....

When a guy has dropped as many passes as he’s caught over his career, you can’t keep saying “but he plays hard”

Pat Miller played hard..... he got ran out of town by this fan base in 2012, to the point he quit the team

Pat Miller was a bust from a top Alabama program. He sucked bad.

Pat White was great. Pat Miller was terrible.

Wesco can block. He will catch 15 passes for 2-3 TDs by end of year.

Most of the WV guys we get are helping us. We need more.
