Local govs have control of public utilities and the National Guard for state emergencies.....NOT the Feds.
Not for state emergencies........The POTUS can call them in for backup to the armed forces in times of national need. The Puerto Rico National Guard responds to the Governor of Puerto Rico.WTF?
State and local governments plan the rebuilding of infrastructure and services, and seek sources of funding for sustainable redevelopment of their communities.WTF?
FEMA is responsible for overseeing restoration of all utilities, supply of ice, food, water and shelter. They work in cooperation with other agencies such as the US Army, Red Cross, etc.
Lol, they excuse every single thing he does and says, thank God he doesn't smoke or wear brown suits, that **** irritates the rubes.

please stop with the rational and truthful explanations....just causes more whining and lying from the left:scream:They delivered the goods to Puerto Rico. The National Guard of Puerto Rico and local agencies had the responsibility to get it into the hands of the needy. The POTUS does not control National Guards.
Unless the feds invade and conquer PR, it will never have a successful hurricane relief effort.
Yea, that’s a unique trait.lmao. Classic Trumper. Next you will be reading the chain emails and posting the memes.
So........Trump who was in office for LESS than 8 months was responsible for hiring unqualified FEMA workers.....LMAO. Looks like Trump inherited a FEMA that was in terrible shape and totally understaffed.Overwhelmed FEMA called on 'bottom of the barrel' staff for 2017 disasters, GAO says
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/04/politics/gao-2017-disasters/index.html
(CNN)The Federal Emergency Management Agency was so overwhelmed with other storms by the time Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico last year that more than half of the workers it was deploying to disasters were known to be unqualified for the jobs they were doing in the field.
That's one revelation from a Tuesday report from the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), which portrays a federal government stretched thin by successive disasters to hit the United States and its territories last year. Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico followed Harvey and Irma -- all within 26 days of each other, according to the lead author of the report.
"By the time Maria hit Puerto Rico, they were down to the bottom of the barrel," Chris Currie, director of emergency management issues at the GAO told reporters in a conference call Tuesday. "They were having a struggle getting people there -- and not just people, but qualified people."
The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority was under bankruptcy protection and some parts of the island that lost power during Hurricane Irma hadn’t had electricity restored before Maria hit.WTF?

Weren't you one of the ones on here speaking of how the Democrats always "blame" others for mistakes? Oh.......yeah.......opcorn:
Being a U.S. prez is a big job, if Trump wasn't up to it he should have stayed in his ivory tower. It's his job to oversee all agencies and see that they have what they need to get their jobs done. The buck stops with him whether you or him like it or not. If he can't handle the job then he should resign.So........Trump who was in office for LESS than 8 months was responsible for hiring unqualified FEMA workers.....LMAO. lol smhI might've been, I don't know. This wasn't Trump's mistake. Locals are responsible for delivering the goods. It's not Trump's fault that the locals decided a union strike > hurricane. That's on them. Like I said, unless you want to invade, the federal response was a success.

You do realize that active army troops aided in Katrina, right? not just the national guard. Not for state emergencies........The POTUS can call them in for backup to the armed forces in times of national need. The Puerto Rico National Guard responds to the Governor of Puerto Rico.

I voted for Trump, don't really care for him much as a human being, but he was absolutely what we needed.
With that said, he makes it really hard some times. His PR tweet was stupid as F uck.
No need for it either, he must know by now the left is going to attack him for everything whether its his fault or not.....its all they have.
Why, why, why be baited into such a dumb *** tweet?
' exasperated sigh '
His brashness and the left's corruption got him elected.....his lack of tact and self awareness will make him a 1 term POTUS unless he stops being an idiot on twitter...
State and local governments plan the rebuilding of infrastructure and services.
Not for state emergencies..
For those who may have missed it, tell us again when you expect Don Jr. to be indicted.Stop doubling down. You look like a complete moron.

They gave them the water. Its still sitting there. Is the govt supposed to hand it out too?The U.S. government plays no role in the distribution of relief supplies during disaster relief efforts? lol got it.
He is humiliating you. You just dont realize it.FEMA is responsible for emergency restoration.
Stop doubling down. You look like a complete moron.
You think hurricanes are state emergencies only? WTF?
The POTUS declares a Federal Emergency and then federal resources are utilized.
You really should stop humiliating yourself.

I NEVER said federal troops were NOT used for Katrina. You do realize that active army troops aided in Katrina, right? not just the national guard.
The Army response to Hurricane Katrina
https://www.army.mil/article/45029/the_army_response_to_hurricane_katrina
Once the levees failed in New Orleans, active duty troops were mobilized to assist the rescue efforts in New Orleans. They used their experience in Iraq and other operations to bring order to a confused situation. The 67th Signal Battalion was deployed from Fort Gordon to set up communications for the Task Force Forward Command Post. Units from the 82nd Airborne Division began arriving at the New Orleans Airport seven hours after getting deployment orders. MG William Caldwell of the 82nd Airborne received succinct orders from LTG Honore: "Your job is to fix the airport and fix New Orleans." The 319th Airborne Field Artillery was assigned to fix the airport. Working with airport staff, the 319th augmented the existing departure process and brought order and direction by taking responsibility for passenger manifests and security screening. Within 12 hours, 9,000 people had been evacuated through the airport. The 3rd Brigade of the 82nd Airborne worked with FEMA in search and rescue operations, providing needed manpower, equipment and standardized maps. The 56th Signal Battalion was tasked to connect commercial communications to the military communications network. The 14th Combat Support Hospital set up in downtown New Orleans to treat the injured. The 21st Chemical Company decontaminated 400 personnel, 783 vehicles, and 73 boats, and helped decontaminate both Charity and Touro hospitals. When FEMA requested that DOD take over logistics, the 13th Corps Support Command deployed from Fort Hood. Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne evacuated the Super Dome and the Convention Center, where thousands of citizens had fled for refuge when they were flooded out of their houses. The paratroopers also joined National Guard units patrolling the streets to keep order in the city.
The Army Corps of Engineers (COE) began their own operations with a three-pronged attack: drain New Orleans, mobilize military and contracting resources to close the levee breaches, and repair the pumps that keep New Orleans dry. The Engineers also helped deliver food and water. By September 2, they had delivered 1.9 million MREs, 6.7 million liters of water and 1.7 million pounds of ice. As the Title 10 troops began to draw down, the Engineers began to gear up operations: by September 15, de-water operations were 60% complete. By the end of the month, COE contractors had removed 4.3 million cubic yards of debris in Louisiana and Mississippi, carted off 120 million tons of trash, and disposed of 36 million pounds of rotting meat. By October 11, New Orleans was dry.
