I'm listening to something yesterday on the radio or the tv and I hear the comment, "The SEC is Dominant!!!! They went 13-1 over week 1."

Well they did have 3 decent wins with Bama, LSU, and Auburn. 4 if you count Ole Miss. I still don't know if you can say this early that means a lot.

I then got to thinking, who in the SEC lost? Then I remembered WVU beat Tennessee-DUH!

Everyone hates the SEC but they remain the best conference and it's not even close. But with that said it just gets old the media pushing them down your throat. I say that and I'm a huge fan of the conference.

As for the opening weekend the Bama is what you would expect. It's hard to say how good LSU is but I think they may have looked a little better than they are. The Auburn win is a quality win but how good is Washington really? Beating Texas Tech is nothing special so I would have left that one out as well.

The Miss St and Kansas State game is going to be interesting this weekend. Also if you really want to wreck college football early have A&M knock of Clemson this weekend.

I like the SEC in terms of tradition and rabid fanbases. I agree with your comments totally especially if Jimbo beats Dabo in College Station.

I will say the last 2-3 years, the SEC as a total conference has been down. The SEC East (except UGA last season) has been weak.

Does the SEC take more non-qualifiers than other Power 5 conferences? Seems like they used to and I never understood why either other conferences didn't give them more flak for it or do the reverse and match it.

SEC is on a downward trend. As a whole the conference is no where close to where it was for about ten years.
2002-2012
The decline at Florida, LSU, S Carolina and Arkansas hurt the conference.
No one has really taken those schools place. You have two great teams. UGA and Bama.
Auburn is overrated. LSU is a dumpster fire, Aggy can't pee or cheat straight and Ole Miss still thinks the South won the war.

The interesting teams are S. Carolina and Miss State.
I think both could be Top 15.
Vernon is right Miss State and Kansas St should be interesting

Mizzou was trash last year.
Their fanbase actually thought they were great.
In the Big XII they wouldn't have been bowl eligible
