It is football season anyway but Texas played with a team in the NCAA Tournament that might be a Final 4 team in Nevada.

Smart is overrated as a coach. Texas should have hire somebody else. Herman well he has yet to earn his worth as a third choice by Texas. I'll give him couple more years to see if he can finish 2nd vs OU.

When Strong was fired in 2016. The agreement with Tom Herman was already completed in a hypothetical way because Strong still had a job and Herman was at UH.
There were no other candidates. Tom Herman had support of key boosters since 2014.
Regarding boosters. Not one of the "boosters" think they are AD unless they are giving 30 million dollar checks.
Even a 500,000 to 3 million check to UT will not give you anything except tickets, a thank you letter and opportunity to be around the program.

Tom Herman turned down South Carolina the year before because the Texas job was promised to him.
Not saying the players sabotaged Charlie Strong in 2016 but the win against ND scared some people.
