At least for a while today I will take your West Virginia team or recruiting questions and provide the answers you seek. Fire away.

Also, do you see Leddie redshirting? Hope we dont burn it for less than 7-10 touches per game

He’s going to play at least four games to keep the redshirt in tact but there is a lot of room for growth there. He has a chance to be a factor.

Will West Virginia be hurt by the number of teams who have transformed their defense in the last few years or have continued to play good defense like TCU.

Texas Tech returns 10 starters

Oklahoma St returns most of their starters with a big DC hire

Texas and TCU were top 15 in defensive efficiency

Iowa St is trending up defensively.

People want to say WVU can be like Baylor but the conference is much better right now than in 2014 and 2015.

West Virginia’s biggest weakness last year was up front. It caused issues for the entire unit. That will be better and more experienced. I think as long as they stay healthy and the linebackers develop some depth this unit will be better.

Is there a fair chance that Maurer will change his mind about the Tenn. commitment?

I don't believe it's too great right now, but West Virginia also isn't just going to let that one rest. They'll still be involved and remember the Mountaineers were on him well before his recruitment ever picked up.

Will 10-2 get us to CCG?

If we go 7-5 or 8-4 with several DH head scratching decisions is he on a hot seat
Now THAT is a truly leading, biased question where the answer is implied within the question.
I counter with:
IF the team betters the records you list will you separate from this forum and promise never to return OR find a building at least 6 stories tall and dive from the top into the concrete sidewalk below without employing any device to lessen the impact of the fall? Your choice--either way the quality of this forum improves immensely.

We seem set up well for next year at corner as well with Pitts, Bailey, Norwood, Keith Washington....all returning. None of these guys are tiny corners either. Good height. I know Pitts, Norwood are learning the position but I think have the highest ceiling athletically to become stars. So how is Keith Washington doing???? He transferred from Michigan and a JUCO. He has height. Also Bailey struggled last year but seemed to improve late in year a little. Has he stepped up and improved after getting experience, coaching at this level??? We need him to.

Also would it surprise you if Pitts and Norwood(has it factor) end up starting??? Both are new at corner but seem to have that athleticism, explosive ability. Pitts is a tall, athletic corner. Watching him live in high school he was an explosive athlete and I could see why he had the 4 star rating. Size, athletic factor. He had it as a defensive back. Surely he will start at least 2-3 years at corner back or safety here. I wish he could have redshirted last year.

Keith is really good in man coverage and that helps. He has excellent length and while there is also some adjustment he’s in that too group.

Yes on Bailey. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is he is much more confident. He understands what went wrong a year ago and has honed in on being a leader. Some of his teammates have said he looks like a different person out there and is much more aggressive. Now there were glowing reports last year in the spring and summer but now he has to do it with the lights on.

Pitts could easily start this year but I think it will be Bailey and either him or Norwood. I could easily see them usuing Norwood in a utility role.

Who would you say is the top new WR impact outside of Simmons??? I’m talking out of the true freshmen group and a guy that will play the most and impact. The top 4 are set it appears. It would be nice if a 5th guy emerged big in case of injury and more weapons. Last year we had no depth outside of 4. They got tired at times vs VT in the opener. They spoke that it really hurt them.

Since I didn't see this thread til today, will you answer the following questions cause you did say you'd answer the questions "today"? If so this a loophole cause tomorrow will be today in 3:17 according to the clock on my phone.

1. Who is the greatest poster you've ever seen on this website not named 3xWVUenginEER?

2. Over your years, has there ever been a football recruit you looked at and said, "this guy is a can't miss" that our staff ignored you on AND he went somewhere else and proved you right? You don't have to mention who it was unless you want to.

3. By the same logic, has there ever been a recruit that you looked at and said, "this one isn't gonna pan out!" AND the guy showed you to be right? Again you don't have to mention who it was unless you want to.

4. How come you don't do guest spots on radio shows anymore? You were good at that.

5a. If you could grade the Oline last season, what grade would you give them?
5b. What grade do you think the Oline is gonna get this year?

Not at all too harsh. Those of us who are truly loyal Mountaineers and not one of those who are fault finders and so ready to predict nothing but poor outcomes need to call them out and see just how affixed they are to the doom and gloom they peddle. So much the better if they were to take their negativism elsewhere (where ever this may be).
