Since the Left wants to "compromise"

The Republicans should give them the issue of illegal immigration they obviously want for the mid term elections. They've refused all other offers to settle this issue. Republicans have offered a path to citizenship for Dreamers, increased numbers, pretty much all the Left asked for. What did the Left offer in "compromise"?

Zero. Zippo...Zilch...Nada.

OK...so they obviously don't want to settle the immigration problem, they want the issue right? So, Republicans should compromise and give it to them! Take the positions of their leadership (Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer) who don't want any tougher enforcement along the border and no Families detained...essentially open borders for all who want to come in. Democrats think that position will get them a big win in November...so let 'em have it!

Republicans should counter with asking voters for veto proof filibuster proof majorities in BOTH houses to pass tough border enforcement and limits on immigrants based on merit. Take that message to the voters as opposed to the Democrat message and let the voters decide.

Honestly, I’d tie this bill to the August deadline. Make the Dems choose to vote on it giving Trump an Immigration Reform win and shutting down the Govt.

Going this route would also force the Dems to justify why shutting down the Govt is worrh the Dem left getting everything they ever asked for. See who wins that PR battle.

Either that or just take a straight up or down choice to the voters. Yes or no do we want a wall? Yes or no do we want open Borders or do we want border enforcement? Yes or no immigration by Merit or immigration to anyone who can make it here and ask for it?

I have no problem with a straight up or down vote just honestly asking the American people what they want and let 'em decide.

Using the American people as pawns? No. Using illegals as pawns, yes. Same as you all are doing with this latest stunt.

I don’t just play because of the exercise, I play to win, and usually that isn’t even enough. I like to also inflict maximum damage on my opponent so they remember it the next time they want to cross swords with me instead of trying to seek a mutual compromise. Lessons are taught.

Sit across the table from me during negotiations some time and find out. I didn’t get to where I am professionally because of my looks. Though I do wear some very nice custom tailored suits.

You don't want to go down the "custom tailored" path on this board. It gives you something in common with Knox, maybe before your time.

Lol ok.

They aren’t $5k suits or anything. I’m just not built for off the shelf, so the Banks suits while they fit, didn’t hang correctly on me. I’m built like I’m 2nd generation walking upright. These, you can tell, fit me correctly everywhere. He did like 30+ measurements. Feels good wearing them. I like all of the custom things on it as well, liners, stitching, pocket liners, and prints/fabric. They’re fun.

But they're just poor refugees seeking asylum and a better life! How can this be?

You mean Trump was right? Some of them really are bad Dudes?

Knox was some dude who would brag about himself all the time. One of those brags was about how he had his t-shirts tailored to fit him better. I was "triggered" by the tailored comment. I thought some of the old timers might get a kick out of it.

He was a jewel. He and Triple Prick had a real thing going/ The first thing I thought of was the T-shirts. Also enjoyed his comments about the good looking girls that continued to pursue him everywhere. Couldn't go to laundromat for all the ladies hitting on him. May have been AA basketball too.

Knox had all this **** going for him, but the only thing he could find to do on weekend was kibitz with us on this venue. Could find him here Fri thru Sunday even when the entertainment was not appreciated. I do believe he would actually get upset with us when we would call him on his BS.

Thank goodness he returned to Tennessee with his talents. Wonder why he settled there? Shutter when someone suspects we have an imposter that they think is Knox.

If I could just vote them all away I would. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. However we can "outvote" them. That's perfectly legal and doable.
