No, they promote fair trade and you should know the difference. For too long we have been taken advantage of. Now, I think it's more of a negotiating position than what's going to happen. Just like fire and fury and sanctions got NK to the table. I think that we are putting pressure on China by doing other things that's helping bring NK to the table too. Sanctions on china is helping get NK to the table too. Carrots and sticks.

There is no such thing as "fair trade". It's made up nonsense. Trump has a public record of 30+ years being anti Free Trade and has his top Trade negotiator being anti Free Trade, but sure.....it's just for negotiating. lol

No it doesn't and you know it. It hurts our exporters. Those other countries have such a limited choice, they wouldn't know if it hurts them or not. By the way, I've taken econ classes and most of the professors wouldn't know business it it jumped up and knocked out there teeth. My goal for everyone would be no tariffs what so ever by any country. At the same time, I'd want the governments to not funnel government money into cost supports for their own compaines. I'm idealistic when it comes to that and I know it's not going to happen. Trump is trying things a little different, we will see how it plays out.

It's put on in a number cases. The children are not with their parents, they are with traffickers who bring the kids up. The kids are then put into camps, the parents are hoping to be untied with their kids at a later time, getting into the country without having to go through proper channels.

Our exporters export to other countries, become more efficient and compete with tariffs or use their resources in a better way. We are using the FEDERAL GOV'T to prop up a few inefficient industries at the expense of more US workers and the US consumers. But that last admin was totes commie.
Not to mention retaliatory tariffs will now target other industries.
Yes, protecting their families and seeking asylum in the U.S. It would depend on where they come from. Why would a Mexican seek asylum in Mexico? If you're from another central American country, why would you seek asylum in Mexico? Is that a better situation as compared to where they came from? Would they be safe there? Of course you don't care about children getting separated from their parents when trying to immigrate to the U.S.

Why would we accept asylum from anyone from Mexico? I thought Mexico was supposed to be this wonderful country, where the notion of building a wall between us and them is appalling?
Asylum, in my opinion, is meant for those that come from authoritarian states, communist states, etc., not any old Democratic country that's run poorly.
This is not about protecting families from some evil nation state. It's about getting their families into the US. Period. And use ANY excuse to do so.
