You are ignorant. I guess the deepest, longest, and most impactful recession in nearly 80 years had nothing at all to do with that growth in food stamps. BTW, that happened under a republican.

You are truly ignorant

Okay I'll accept that, so why don't you post for me what the highest numbers were in terms of food stamp enrollments when Bush left office and what they were when Obama left office, and compare that to what they are now if I'm so ignorant.

Now is your chance to prove the statement you just made. I will either get a factual detailed response backed up by numbers or some snide *** comment from you because you can't back up what you just said.

Either way my original post stands and you can't refute it. Yet you call me ignorant?

The grub stub habit has been coming on for a long time in my opinion, people has seemed to lose all pride in themselves, folks will gladly take a hand out for there needs & spend money on there wants ...a person should be humiliated to have to be on them ...& before I get kicked in the balz for saying that ...i know some who absolutely need them because of sickness or other real reasons, but most I know will gladly buy a smartphone & play the slot machines & drink ...

I have personally seen people use them and drive off in brand new 2018 vehicles. Fact.

I've seen them spend the months allotment to get packed up for vacation...as an adult I've never received any government assistance. & I can count my vacations on one hand , & I remember alot of PB&J in my diner bucket & beams for diner .
My pride as a healthy man would not allow me to even entertain the idea, I worked 2 jobs as a apprentice & played with myself for entertainment ...

Corporate welfare, **** the poor!

How can coporations get "welfare" from the revenues they generate? Tax breaks are not "welfare". It's money they don't have to hand over to Leviathan.

If used as a true need I don't hate people on welfare..i hate those who abuse it ..if you can afford cable tv you don't need grub stubs ...i don't like paying for other people's wants
I'm not talking about lowering taxes...

Ironically, the auto bail out (again using taxpayer's money) is one of the chief accomplishments Leftists love to tout about Obama. Now this Leftist poster (previous) is attacking "corporate welfare"?

To add insult to stupidity, those were loan guarantees in that bail out...and for the most part at least the principle was repaid in full.

So where's the "Welfare"?

Now that Solyndra deal? THAT truly was corporate "welfare". And who's deal was that?

I would love to see the back door deals made by our elected snakes (R &D )that made them rich & robbed us ...

The dirty little secret among both parties is that's the main reason why they try to get elected and how they stay elected!

Again you change the subject..........The RECESSION REACHED ITS PEAK DURING OBAMA......quit being a fool and quit changing the premise of the argument as you grasp to make a stupid point. You want to compare apples and oranges. Bush was voted out of office 10 months after the recession started. Obama inherited a stinking republican driven economy.

YOU WANT FACTS... here are some you won't find in your right wing propaganda: The last 3.5 years under Obama, Americans on food stamps fell from approximately 47.5 billion to about 42.1 billion a decrease over 5 million. In March 2018, that number fell further to approximately 40.1 million. The number of Americans on food stamps has been steadily falling for 5 years. I don't have the year over year of month over month percentage change but just looking at the charts, there hasn't been a visible (or any) acceleration in the decrease of Americans on food stamps under Trump than the last 3.5 years of Obama.

Oh, OK. So food stamp use peaked under Bush and reached dramatic lows under Obama and now because of Obama are at all time lows. So since you're an economic expert on how Obama turned the economy around, why don't you point out to me exactly when the food stamp usage reached an all-time low based on the policy Obama pursued?

Maybe start with those tax cuts all Democrats voted against think that might have had something to do with it?

Obama was out there cheering for that wasn't he?

God didn't bless you with an abundance of gray matter did he? Did I say it peaked under Bush? Don't attribute that statement to me. All-time low probably occurred during the month after the program started under Johnson right?

Nice you tried to change the topic to tax cuts.....you never stop working. Love that about you ATL. You would have made a fantastic attorney

I figured you had heard the term before, I didn't make it up and you already know the answer so what is your point? lol, I call it corporate welfare and I call it a much bigger deal than kicking folks off food stamps, I don't care if a few unworthy folks receive them and **** the system, that is what corporate tax lawyers do. Food stamps aren't breaking the bank so don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Everything the GOP does anymore is based more on what their base "Feels" than on what is actually causing a problem. Has he mentioned building a Northern wall to keep Canadians out? really, just ignore me, I ain't debating folks that can't agree on anything other than nothing worked until Trump did it, lol.

OK OM1 on topic my man, if you think about it the argument you are trying to make is not very favorable towards Mr. Obama.

You are suggesting the worst of the recession was not his fault and actually occurred as a result of policies that Bush pursued. And as a corollary, since Trump has come into office nothing he has done has turned the economy around... it is in fact a result only of Obama's effective leadership during the worst of the recession caused by Bush.

So it's almost as if Obama wasn't even in office or had no impact while he was there! He did not cause the recession, he was not responsible for the results of it while he held office for 8 years... and now you're giving him credit for all of the good things that have happened since his successor has taken over! Nice:eek:kay:

Let that sink in for a few while you watch Trump dismantle whatever Legacy Obama claimed to have.[thumb2]

I'm not sure Keyser is as confused about his race as country is but I agree with you country brings much more to the board than this poster.
