I've been mockingly using this terminology recently to underscore an important political observation that others are making besides me about the Left. That would be the Democrats are fracturing. They are at War with each other and it could spell disaster for them in the Fall. Rather than a "Blue Wave", they are in the process of cracking up in part because Trump has exposed their Left flank.
This isn't just me...consider the learned opinion of noted Democrat pollster Doug Schoen...long time Democrat opinion maker, and analyst. He sees the same thing, which I've linked to here:
(btw, he does offer some legislative agenda items Democrats could pursue in this piece, but the Left won't allow it...thus the crack up)
excerpt:
"Voters in Democratic primaries are split between staunchly progressive and more moderate factions. In the struggle for leadership of the party, supporters of each faction are potentially fatally weakening the Democrats for November contests, and potentially for the 2020 elections as well. That could pave the way for President Trump to be re-elected".
"the Democrats must advance an agenda that is explicitly different from what party leaders are currently articulating and focus on long-term objectives to create a society of opportunity for all – not guaranteed outcomes achieved through wealth redistribution".
Not the stuff of a "wave election"
