Yep all the VA problems started with Obama and are completely gone now. Running like a well oiled machine.
I disagree on this one. I was thinking about it earlier today. You wouldn’t want a standard hospital administrator because there is so much more to the VA than just healthcare. I also don’t think someone from Industry would be good because in Industry you’re trying to turn a profit. This is one of the few organizations in Govt that I wish had a bottomless budget. Re: Ronnie Jackson, I don’t think he was qualified for the job, I don’t recall reading about running major commands as a Flag Officer. I could see like a retired General that had a major and complex command, like USEUCOM or something less focused on Combat or more on major administrative command. Even a major base commander of somewhere like Ft. Hood or Bragg. Maybe Wright Patt or even the Admiralty of PACOM.
Just some thoughts.
The VA was a ******* mess under Barry. Arguably his biggest failure of many under his Presidency. And no, it’s not running well now either.

This is where I disagree with you. I think combat veterans should be treated far different than people who never saw combat. If you served in a combat role, you should be entitled to full VA treatment if you so desire. If you were a **** shoveler in Louisiana, why should you be entitled to free stuff your entire life? If a vet has insurance and no problems, why should he not go to private healthcare? We need to free up the case load for the VA. I'm sure this is going to ruffle your feathers over what I said but I just think that the VA can't be a full stop service for everybody who ever served in any capacity. Getting shot at is far more important than a mess hall cook who never sets foot off a stateside military base.

Why would I disagree? I don’t use VA benefits. Never have. I also didn’t get my 6 months of unemployment when I separated like most of the guys I know did.
I’d argue anyone in the military suffering from PTSD should receive care though. Too many are finding relief at the end of a gun barrel. God knows if I hadn’t gotten the job when I did, I might have been a statistic as well. I was in a very very dark place for about 6 months.

Bush didn’t set it up to handle the influx of cases. The problem starts with him, for sure. However, Barry had 8 years to try and fix it and scandal after scandal as he ignored this country’s warriors. It was a disgrace and one of the reasons why I have such a low opinion of him.
