If I was a foreign leader meeting with Trump...I’d blow smoke and compliments like crazy. Seems pretty easy to play that instrument.
Trump has done something that nobody else could, gotten those countries to start to ante up their meager dues to NATO. For that, he should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Nothing deters aggression like a strong defense.
I’ll give Trump credit for keeping the pressure on to continue to make NATO strong, it’s needed now maybe more than ever with Putin’s conceded vision. However, Increases in NATO defense contributions have increased over the last three years....so BEFORE Trump took office. And Ukraine conflict can also be a factor the increases are continuing as well.
