I agree when we are talking about Condelezza Rice of course. But giving a platform to hate is a grey area, imo. I’d let em speak, then tear them up in the Q&A, but others don’t want their institutions to be associated with that type of hate.....not crazy

LOL

Is there room for free speech that is offered only to provoke someone. Easy example would be someone calling my family names. That may be free to some, but it is going to provoke a physical response from me. Ditto some of the comments directed at Southern Wv. That too will invite a physical response.

Had occasion to confront a liberal in Summit Hall while in school. He insisted everyone in the South were bigots. I told him my entire family lived in Florida. He repeated his stance, and I knocked him over the couch and as the elevator door was opening, his feet were sticking up over the couch and I was going after him while he was in prone position. Girls were screaming and boys were OK with it even tho they did not know what provoked the action. Obviously the word never went beyond the third floor or both of us may have been invited to leave Morgantown.

The boy never mentioned the South again in my presence. I am not a bad ***, but some things are not free from my perspective, and will not accept some words or actions directed at family.

"They are actually against our Constitution......especially free speech. Countless examples adding up day after day"

It is exactly what this thread is about. Most of the examples that have been given as to why liberals hate the 1st amendment have actually been examples of people exercising their free speech to protest something that they don't like.

If you guys really think that liberals hate the 1st amendment than I suppose you all will be donating to the ACLU to help their battle!

This entire thread is an attack on true free speech
The aclu? Bless you heart.

So liberals set the standard of "hate speech"...Could you show me just one example of conservative "hate speech?"

Liberals, loosely throw around the words racist, bigot, white supremacist, white privilege...etc and more often than not, they're absolutely wrong, simply because they refuse to listen. It's like progressive liberals are programmed robots. "If there is a different opinion, then they are a racist, bigot, privileged white people or a woman hater."

Quite frankly, it's ridiculous. Like we should be ashamed of having Christian values and our own opinions, but should respect your values and opinions.

With the "Say, do, believe what we want and those who disagree, shut'em down" attitude from progressive liberals, we'll never get anything solved.

I see conservative speech as conservative speech, hate speech as hate speech. I don’t think the definition of hate speech isn’t as difficult to pin point as some make it to be.

In the first example I posted, they say (and it's true) the college faculties preach it. They are filling our children's heads with it...and these are very liberal talking heads admitting as much.

You are the biggest crybaby I have ever seen in my life.

Hello, and welcome -- your thoughts on this matter mesh right in with mine. need to get rid of lobbyists and and install termlimits. Those two actions, in my opinion would solve more than a few problems.

I don't always agree with you usually don't on most things but on this one you are 100% spot-on!

Yes, they do and you won't get an answer. Suffice it to be anything that's not in line with Leftist/Progressive/secular/Socialist dogma.

Says the guy who stalks people who break him.

@30CAT I know that you don't post here a lot but here is a little info on countryroads89. He is basically known as the board racist. Both conservatives and liberals on the board view him as a racist and don't really care for him.

p.s. He is wrong A LOT!

There was a scientific poll confirming this too!

Now that's how you settle that argument from a loud mouth!

There are plenty of rightwingers claiming women should stay in the kitchen and STFU, and plenty that advocate for a return to pure white nationalistic pride.....yet calling the entire ideology out for those views is foolish

If there are plenty, then you can provide plenty of examples?

How'd you like that answer 30CAT? Face it, you'll never get a direct answer from any one of these Leftists after they make one of their bold & brash emotion based tirades. They love to paint their opposition with the same broad brush, but when you drill down and ask them to either explain or defend what they're arguing...the only constant you will get from them is their silence or they simply refuse to answer or engage.

BTW for some real fun, check out this link with this very same poster making similar brash statements unsubstantiated by facts (this one about Progressives NOT forcing their secular morality onto everyone else) and look at the long list of unanswered questions. It's entertaining. Had the same scrum with this poster a few days ago about if a "progressive" income tax is in fact income redistribution? Again, many, many unanswered questions following up on facts.

Here's the link to the discussion thread on Progressive secularism.

Hey @Boomboom521 ...The Founders believed our unalienable rights came from a Creator...secular Humanists think they came from Trees...or the Earth (you know Mother Nature)

If they (modern secular Humanists) had been around at the time when the Founders drafted our Declaration of Independence, would they have felt "forced" to accept the idea the Founders eventually settled on that our rights indeed came from a Creator and not from the Trees or Nature? Isn't what the Founders settled on in sourcing our rights just the worst kind of forcible punishment for you Nature Lovers and Tree hugging Earth worshipers?

I will continue to and there is nothing you can do about it.

Hey @wvu2007, do you think of country as a White racist who hates Blacks or as a Black racist who hates Whites? Since country claims to be living "rent free" in your head I was just wondering which race country prefers to masquerade under as a mental freeloader?[winking]

In 2018 in the year of our lord, we still have people who have no idea that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequence.

You couldn’t do any better than that?

You should be paying 007 royalites for his hanging the registered trademark "R" behind your name. Guess what the "R" will forever stand for? (certified by scientific polling)[thumb2]

In 2018 in the year of our lord, we still have people can't read starting topics, such as "Progressive libs continue preaching hate and intolerance while claiming to be against hate and intolerance. "
