Cincinnati is a wobbler.
If this was 20 years ago than Cincinnati might have a chance

Thing is college football drives this car and for whatever reason a lot of people do not support their football program
The biggest thing is the decline of population in the area

After all the Big XII had the chance with Louisville 7 years ago and told UL no as well

Memphis will never be in this conference
No fan support
Horrible academics
Most Big XII schools can recruit the Delta with or without Memphis

Like what has been mentioned before is WVU willing to bring in 4-7 million less in TV revenue for these two schools

The Big XII cannot backed out of their television contract and does not want to water down their revenue

That would hurt football. Those schools bring nothing in football. The Big 12 is a great conference with the current 10. They should ride that out until the power 5 model implodes and falls apart. Athletic departments, schools are spending more money than they have on facilities and coaching salaries. It will catch up with them. The pro sports will fall as well. $ shouldn’t be the only decision maker in sports decisions. The game has to last and make sense.

Eventually Missouri will be back in Big 12 in 5-7 years when all this power 5 implodes and all the $ motivated decisions come back to haunt everybody. Eventually budgets will shrink and everybody will get back to their rivals. Luxury suites will stop or go away and the game will be pure again. Travel expenses will need to be cut. Things will make sense again. 50 million dollar weight rooms will need to last 50 years. Lol

Louisville should have been added. They are closer geographically than WVU to rest of conference. They would also give WVU a closer partner.

In a perfect world WVU would be in a more eastern conference and Louisville and Missouri would be Big 12.

I love the Big 12 and think it is a great conference. I want all conferences to make sense geographically though.

There should be a eastern conference with WVU, Pitt, Penn State, Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers, UCONN, Boston College, VT.

ACC would be UVA, Wake Forest, UNC, NC State, Duke, Clemson, GT, Florida State, Miami, South Florida, Central Florida.

Big 10 would be Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota.

Big 12 would be Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Nebraska, Mizzouri, Louisville.

Missouri/Arkansas has become an interesting rivalry for both schools

Most people dont understand the Walton family has a lot of Missouri connections as well.

If the huge Missouri and Arkansas boosters want to change conferences it will happen
With Frank Broyles passing away there has been a change of the guard in Fayetteville.
Jerry Jones has full control of their AD and supposedly he wants to stay in the SEC for now

But things can change because Jerry also has a stake in the Big XII
He is clever enough up attempt to broker a deal to help his investments

I love how people say this team belongs in this conference and this team belongs in this conference
UCF has been on UT's radar for 10 years.
The Big XII wants into Florida but it wants a school that can compete with UF and Florida St
UCF has the possibility
Not a big fan but it has a large population with a lot of people who do not have major ties to any school
If UCF can develop a fan base in Central Florida than they are a strong possible
Their baseball program is Top 25 as well right now
They have taken the challenge and understand that the Big XII does not give out handouts

UCF needs to play some better basketball too. Football and baseball they are on way. They need their women’s sports invested in and growing too. USF already had Big East affiliation and previously competed in the old Conference USA basketball when it was strong. I’m surprised USF never developed better sports faster. I guess they are on way. USF and UCF are becoming rivals. They need to be in ACC and 1-2 of the VT needs to get back with northern Big East conference where they grew more success.

A northern conference in the far East with both UVA and VT would be a hit.

UVA
VT
WVU
Pitt
Penn State
Maryland
Rutgers
Syracuse
UCONN
Boston College

This would bring back the old Big East basketball back to NYC Madison Square Garden with the old teams. The basketball only adds would be Villanova, St. John’s, Providence, Seton Hall or Georgetown as the 14 or add both and Rhode Island or Georgetown to go to 16 team hoop league. Rhode Island basketball would be great in the Big East. Maybe better than Providence.

Damn Son....that makes ABSOLUTELY PERFECT logic!! Now THAT'S COLLEGE SPORTS!!! There would be a VERY GOOD chance WVU would own that conference..BIG TIME!

A bubble will burst... but the rich will get richer and the poor will receive even less.

Regional conferences would be cool, but I am not certain that will ever happen again. It's not like being in a conference with our regional schools ever helped us now did it?

We have received the greatest exposure and reached new heights since things have been shaken up. Old Big East fell apart, Sugar Bowl. Big 12, $$$ and consistent TV time.

No. Roll with what we have and if it falls apart it falls apart.
Memphis and cinci are not saving the big 12 if ok or Texas want to leave. Only a couple of power 5 Conference schools can help the big 12.
Absolutely. Only a few power programs will help the Big 12 at all. If, a big if, that ever happened, it would have to be the likes of Arkansas, Florida St, etc...

I think there main campus is 55,000 students and total enrollment in the 70,000 range

Time for leadership to have some balls.
I see NO compelling argument for adding these two. Decent basketball in some years. Football teams would, most years, only provide decent competition for Kansas. Having a round robin of 10 teams is not really a bad way to go. A I see a real possibility of a return to more regional (geographic) conferences as the travel eats away at the decreasing pot of money and the economic model shifts from the recent 'count cable subscribers (no matter a lot of them have no interest in local college sports)' and shifts to more 'streaming, etc. models. No reason two more hungary mouths to feed off the same loaf of bread. Neither will provide enough added revenue to support their take away. Stay as is and watch the scenery change. Keep winning!

The B12 is actually ahead of the curve right now with a 10 team league and the other leagues are starting to understand it. The B10 is going to be very, very unhappy with the garbage fan bases (Rutgers, Maryland) they picked up and the garbage they already have (Northwestern) when number of raw cable boxes in a geographic area becomes an irrelevant metric. The badly bloated ACC is going to be even more upset with the no fanbase having trash (Pitt, Cuse, BC, Wake, etc.) they are forced to share cash with. Their "go big or go home" business model isn't going to hold up well with content delivery systems changing and that kind of dead weight taking a full share.

Round robin play is proving to be awesome for excitement and interest and the B12 is developing a really nice identity all on it's own. And we only split the money 10 ways. Love it...

A lot has to do with what are call sidewalk fans or tshirt fans
Florida is a state with a changing population.
Most states have a high percentage of people born in the state and a high percentage of people who have lived there for an extended period.
Florida has a low percentage of both.

Unlike a state like Texas that has a long history of CFB.
The state of Florida didnt develop CFB fans until the 80's.

Once you get South of Ocala the SEC is not that important
Meaning the Big XII can develop a following with UCF in that region.
Florida State will be the best option but Florida St still believes in the ACC

I would love to see all the higher sports fall economic wise because there is no need for billion dollar stadiums, 30 million dollar weightrooms, practice facilities that cost additional 30-50 million and 10 million dollar coaching salaries. Colleges need to cut travel expenses, get back closer to geographic sense and make the scholarships bigger to student athletes and encourage them to stay in school and get education for free. The NFL, NBA and NCAA need to be taking care of the sport together. Protect the game and keep it pure.
