Texas played out of their arse today. They hit shots like a bat in the dark. They are a 30% 3 shooting team and shot 60% or more today.
Texas is not that good. We let them beat us. They didn't win we gave it to them. By watching.
How many times have we heard this excuse this year. This team is just not consistant enough to go far in any tourney.
No doubt....a 22-9 regular season and a 4/5 seed in the NCAA Tournament isn't acceptable.
Yeah, amazing how these same people appear after a loss, but are "All In" when we win.......guess they expect 31-0
I don’t think there are many better than Coach Huggins, and we absolutely could have no one better leading the basketball program. However the level of competition prior to league play with few exceptions was somewhat suspect and may have lead some to irrational exuberance.
Realistically how many people really thought this was a top 10 team when the season started? We had two seniors, a junior who couldn't play the first half of the season, sophomores with limited experience and 4 newbies with one who was on injured reserve for the whole season. We lost a lot of quality playing time after graduation. Not a lot of experienced depth available. What they did do is ended up 22-9, won their holiday tournament championship, beat the # 1 team in the country, finished #2 in the best conference in the nation and will probably end up ranked between 15 and 20 at the end of the season. Not too shabby of a performance. Most schools would be happy with that performance but those of us who are proud of what this team accomplished are attacked and slammed by the super critical so called fans. Well to you I say "take time to enjoy the moment". Their will be better moments and there will be worse but the only one you have is this one. So get real and enjoy it.
8 of those wins have come against teams with RPIs 184 or worse. Good scheduling can get you to 22 wins.
And we've lost to most of the teams that make it a top 50 schedule.
Have a 7-8 record over the last 15 games.
But, hey, we beat the pants off Coppin State, NJIT, Pitt and Morgan State, so we should be happy, right?

We lost to the worst sUcK team in Paypal Cal's 10 years at home. They had their butts handed to them at Florida today.

If you aren't happy with the Mountaineer basketball team...............you can turn the channel and find a team that you support. This year's team is very good but did not win all their games. They will play deep into March Madness and most likely will appear with the Elite Eight. Nuff said. Warez
Amen! Too many forget that is one of the youngest teams in America that knocked off Virginia, finished 2nd in the toughest conference in America. 2 seniors. Next season will be good, too.
The Big 12 tournament and March Madness will give us a sample of what next season will be like. Remember, players get exponentially better from season to season. There's no ceiling to what this team can do! The only one who can beat WVU is WVU.
Glad you could point this out. Hopefully someone will have time to alert our hall of fame coach that we're not a perfect basketball team.
