i can’t imagine a better scenario during midterms. Strategically speaking, get this symbolic thing on the official record and then hammer the **** out of them for the next 8 months.
Instead of actually working on a bipartisan bill the President backs, you'd rather do a political sideshow to put da libz in their place for the midterms? Well at least you aren't hiding behind anything any more, I'll give you that.i can’t imagine a better scenario during midterms. Strategically speaking, get this symbolic thing on the official record and then hammer the **** out of them for the next 8 months.
"political sideshow".....you mean like the liberals have been running ever since November 2016?......libs never heard of a bipartisan bill....you aren't hiding either are you?Instead of actually working on a bipartisan bill the President backs, you'd rather do a political sideshow to put da libz in their place for the midterms? Huh? There's a bi-partisan bill with GOP and DEM sponsorship, that POTUS came out and backed after the shooting. Did Fox News not cover it for you?"political sideshow".....you mean like the liberals have been running ever since November 2016?......libs never heard of a bipartisan bill....you aren't hiding either are you?

I don't have a problem with that. Of course, that won't stop the next shooting. You might get surprised. 70% of Americans support a ban on assault rifles.
Just saw where Dicks Sporting Goods is no longer selling ARs and will no longer sell a gun to anyone under 21, regardless of state and law.
It will stop a Devin Kelley or Nikolas Cruz.I don't have a problem with that. Of course, that won't stop the next shooting.
I am glad I am not an investor in Dick's Sporting Goods. What a bad idea.Just saw where Dicks Sporting Goods is no longer selling ARs and will no longer sell a gun to anyone under 21, regardless of state and law.
I have respect for those on the right screaming mad about identity politics. But, now in power, many of those that scream on the right are wanting to use the ability to govern effectively as a mere tactic to smear the opposition to gain even more power?Instead of actually working on a bipartisan bill the President backs, you'd rather do a political sideshow to put da libz in their place for the midterms? Just what is an Assault rifle? This should get fun ....You might get surprised. 70% of Americans support a ban on assault rifles.

What would have really stopped a cruz is if the FBI or the Sheriff's office had done their job.It will stop a Devin Kelley or Nikolas Cruz.
Maybe? Then why not just give up guns completely? Seems like this will run off the gun nuts that feel attacked.Don't you suppose they make the majority of their profits from clothing and shoes and other sporting equipment?
It will stop a Devin Kelley or Nikolas Cruz.
Certainly. But we've had a run on mass murders recently and 70% is a lot of customers. What would have really stopped a cruz is if the FBI or the Sheriff's office had done their job.
Absolutely. There are 300 million guns in the US and they could certainly get one illegally. But these guys got their's LEGALLY.How do you know? They can't get access to "illegal" AR's? They can't get access to Handguns?
What is a run? There are stats that say 11 teenagers are killed every day from texting and driving. I'm not sure if that's true but if it is, that's more damning than the these shootings. I beleive we need to do all things to protect the kids. HArdening the schools, more teachers with guns, better background checks, mental illness identification. The problem with hardening the schools is that it will be a huge financial burden on districts and they are already stretched thin.Certainly. Even using WaPo, wrong.
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief...onservatives-support-assault-weapons-ban-poll
"Overall, about half of Americans support a ban on assault weapons, according to the new Washington Post/ABC News poll, compared with 46 percent who oppose such a ban. That shows little change from 2016, when 51 percent support a prohibition on assault weapons.
The Washington Post/ABC News poll of 808 adults was conducted from Feb. 15-18. Its margin of error is 4 percentage points."
Bwhahahaha first of all, I’ve never hid any pretense of my beliefs on the 2nd amendment. We don’t have a firearms problem judging by the numbers. I’d support doing nothing from what is currently in place. And yes, I’m all for maintaining a majority of GOP and a supermajority if we could pull it off. I’ve said what I thought I would be willing to compromise on many times and it comes far short of what the Dems would support. I’d support Mag limits and I’d support banning bump stocks, as long as both came with a heavy emphasis (don’t know what that would be) on mental health.Instead of actually working on a bipartisan bill the President backs, you'd rather do a political sideshow to put da libz in their place for the midterms? They can’t shop somewhere else? How do you know? They can't get access to "illegal" AR's? They can't get access to Handguns?
Yeah, I do think you're off base. The GOP controls the House, Senate and WH. POTUS has called for certain bi-partisan gun measures to pass. You'd rather see a sideshow for lulz.Bwhahahaha first of all, I’ve never hid any pretense of my beliefs on the 2nd amendment. We don’t have a firearms problem judging by the numbers. Secondly, the whole pretense of my post was based on the political sideshow of the left by sponsoring/proposing something they know wouldn’t see the light of day. You chastise me for wanting to call them on it and use their political sideshow against them? We just sat through two weeks of NRA and fun bashing to find out the problem was a disengaged FBI, some shitbag police, and some crazy assed police commissioner. Oh, but I’m offbase. *****, please.
Could you point to some instances in the last year where the left has attempted compromise?I have respect for those on the right screaming mad about identity politics. But, now in power, many of those that scream on the right are wanting to use the ability to govern effectively as a mere tactic to smear the opposition to gain even more power?
Gun control, the Russia investigation, immigration, military parades....seems like everything is a gotcha move at this point. Seems like the real motive is driving the divide deeper?
That said.....looks like it’s working too.
Shocker, I’m able to not fall lock step with POTUS. I’m in disagreement with him on this one.Yeah, I do think you're off base. The GOP controls the House, Senate and WH. POTUS has called for certain bi-partisan gun measures to pass. You'd rather see a sideshow for lulz.
That's great! How independent of you. Still think you're off base too root for some silly political sideshow. You have valid, well reasoned positions...you should stand by them instead reveling in absurdity.Shocker, I’m able to not fall lock step with POTUS. I’m in disagreement with him on this one.
lol, no one buys your little tap dance.Shocker, I’m able to not fall lock step with POTUS. I’m in disagreement with him on this one.

Leaving them unarmed has more pitfalls. Sorry, just don't agree that leaving them there without any defensive measures is smart. It's a lot more cost effective than building walls, and having police on every floor. School districts aren't going to be able to afford it.https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...st-year-mass-killings-least-decade/836738001/
As far as protecting the kids, hardening the schools is certainly prudent, but arming teachers has pitfalls.
I’m for taking any sideshow the Dems start to spin it and to smack them back in the face with it. It’s called politics. The GOP doesn’t play enough of it, or at least as aggressively as I’d play it.That's great! How independent of you. Still think you're off base too root for some silly political sideshow. You're nuts....The GOP doesn’t play enough of it
If Harry Reid had said he had it on good authority that I hadn't paid any income taxes, I would have said," I have it on good authority that Senator Reid likes little boys." Mitt was too nice to that scum bag.I’m for taking any sideshow the Dems start to spin it and to smack them back in the face with it. It’s called politics. The GOP doesn’t play enough of it, or at least as aggressively as I’d play it.
That’s like a decade ago, and newsflash, birth certificates were started by the candidate you voted for last election. You're nuts....
Birth certificates
Funny, HRC campaign manager, Sy Blumenthal was the one who started that. You're nuts....
Birth certificates
That's why Sy Blumenthal wasn't allowed by Obama to be in HRC's state department. He knew. That’s like a decade ago, and newsflash, birth certificates were started by the candidate you voted for last election.
You can't read at all.
"70% of Americans support stricter laws"
But, but, but....you were looking for aggressive politics. The birth certificate fiasco was a very aggressively pursued pile of dogshit. And the bulk of it was delivered by the right. That’s like a decade ago, and newsflash, birth certificates were started by the candidate you voted for last election.
