Why are you all so upset with him for being what you all excused in Clinton? Why are you calling him out for chasing skirts like he (Clinton) did? Isn't that what you all defended in him (Clinton)? Why not cut Trump the same slack? You all proved your point. It's just about Sex, so who cares right? We agree with you!

I am not an Evangelical by any means but the gut feeling I get as to why they support Trump so strongly isn't because they like Trump per se but rather a combination of (a) they've feel so put down for so long by the Left and (b) the Left despises Trump. It's a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
You always get upset with me when you claim I always try to appoint my views as "superior" to yours. So now I'm agreeing with you about Trump and you're still giving me the business about my "tone"?

A big part of it is also that no matter how idealistic one is at some point you realize that people aare human so expecting them to be perfect or close is just unrealistic so you be thankful for what you can get and live with the rest.

But the crap your black/white skin has cooked up isn't going to fly, will backfire, and will doom Democrats for quite a while. There was no conspiracy within high levels of the administration with Russians to steal the election from Hillary. Get it through your head: As horrible as Trump was, he didn't need it. Your candidate and your message is that bad.
Gates can only provide material against Manafort. The investigation is winding down, and is going to lose Flynn, and possibly Carter. A great waste of money, time, and invariably did EXACTLY what the Russians want: weaken the US through chaos.
I think there's a lot to that sentiment. Although they appear different on the surface I don't think there is that much difference in how Clinton and Trump treat women. Clinton has been a politician his whole life, and a good one, so he has put on a good veneer whereas Trump hasn't been in politics at all and hasn't bothered to put on a veneer at all. Trump has been married three times and Clinton only once but getting married and divorced again and again hurts you in politics and Bill & Hillary was a political union so neither one was going to break that up.
Another issue on which I think Trump makes hay with social conservatives is Muslims. Some are tempted to say it's as simple that social conservatives and Trump are bigots when it comes to Muslims but I don't think it's that simple. For a long time in this country the conversation was basically this:
The Left: The country needs to change on Issue X.
Social Conservatives: We think differently on that issue because of our religion.
The Left: This isn't a religious issue, it's a human rights issue.
Social Conservatives: You're persecuting us for our religion.
The Left: No, religion has nothing to do with it, it's just Issue X.
And for most of those issues the Left won and sometimes spiked the ball.
Then come the present. Muslim societies are way more socially conservative than anything we've seen in our lifetimes in the US. But if you say Muslims are backwards on Issue X you get called a bigot by the Left.
Now granted, some of the opposition to the Muslims is plain old bigotry. But OTOH there is a double standard. If what really matters is Issue X then you judge someone by their position on Issue X. OTOH if you judge people with the same position on Issue X differently then Issue X isn't what matters to you.
If you put down socially conservative Christians for their position on Issue X for a long time and then say that socially conservative Muslims with the same position on Issue X must not be talked badly about then you're going to generate a lot of anger.

But the main thing the Left misses about Trump is he is anti-establishment. If there is one overriding factor about him (among others) his suporters liked in his candidacy it is he is not beholden to the special interest ruling political class of D.C. that simply fights over a big pile of money they collect down there and who gets to spend it?
