but now the FBI says he failed last July, failed a follow up in November and had his file closed in January. Is it not concerning that he still had a temp clearance? I know this isn't using your own server treason, but it sounds bad to me. Still a non story?

Honestly, I’d have to know more specifics on the timelines and what he “failed” specifically for and what was communicated to the WhiteHouse from the OPM/FBI. You can “fail” or be flagged for a variety of stuff, credit reports, back child support, not reporting a speeding ticket, then they’ll go back and do more investigation. During that time you still have the interim. Important thing to understand though, at least from a company standpoint, the requesting agency is in sit and wait mode until the OPM/FBI conducts their investigation and provides the results. They’d be the ones that came back and revoked his interim clearance if the results of the initial screening were horrific. In context DV is not uncommon, sadly. Is it something that triggers an immediate termination of the interim? I don’t know but I doubt it. The one thing, at least I think I know to be true, is that the WH wasn’t thumbing their nose at the investigation. If they were, I’d not be cool with that at all. But again, we’re talking DV, not like he was Aldrich Ames. And no, for the snowflakes, I’m not normalizing hitting women.

You need a top secret clearance for his job, interims are never given for a Top Secret clearance unless it is an emergency, usually war. I know folks that have had to wait over a year to start work at the DoD just waiting on a secret clearance let alone a Top secret one. White house is lying again to cover their ***, what is new. ****, potential employees are denied a clearance for having a DUI and it ALWAYS is denied if you lie or leave anything out. Unlike Jared, who has gotten like, I don't know how many do overs. But hell, Trump is still hiding his Tax returns he promised he would release so who believes anything he says except his rubes, they just need him for validation at this point.
