Have one daughter studying overseas (Italy) in May for the summer and I will be traveling to Europe in October. Looking for ideas on cell phone plans while overseas. Current provider is Verizon, which I despise as a company, and their oversea package looks like a ripoff like everything else they offer. Any suggestions? Thanks

What type of phone do you have? FaceTime and iMessaging will work on wifi. Are phone calls really that important?

Vodaphone is a British company. Not sure how many countries you’re planning to travel through/to. I have Verizon that I use in Europe but if you don’t want to use them, check out Vodaphone.

I usually just get a local Sim Card and buy prepaid minutes when I don’t use Verizon. They have kiosks in every airport and train station.

Yes, A phone for daughter is a must. They will be traveling a good deal and will need to be connected for all kind of stuff, including keeping her parents updated. She currently has an iPhone 8.

My wife and I can share one phone when we are in Europe. Again, need it for contacting people and travel arrangements when there among other stuff, I assume. I currently have a five year old LG that needs replaced. Wife has an IPhone 6.

Just buy a track phone whenever you are in a new country, cheap and works fine that way.
