Yup, Jones was the best, better shooter than Carter. He played when I was in school.
Me too. Great guards going from Joe Fryz/ Lowes Moore to Jones/Diego McCoy/Quentin Freeman to Vernon Odom/Dale Blaney. Very fun times late 70's thru mid 80's
No doubt those were some damn fine guards; but for my money, THE best guard of that entire era played just in advance of that group.......TONY ROBERTSON.
Lowes Moore was hands down the best. Greg Jones is next. I used to hang out a lot with Quentin back in the day. Good guy.
Best freshman we’ve had in a while. Guy can score. We need guys who can create shots.
Teddy has no conscience......and being he's just a freshman.......playing for Huggs........and for a top 10 program.........yep, he's good.
If you pay attention, the plays they run for him ARE Esa's plays they ran for him last year........that's how confident Huggs is with Allen's offensive abilities.
I'm curious to see how much time he will play as a freshman........got to play defense for ole Huggy Bear.
never seen someone with such an "ugly" shot be as an effective scorer...almost like defenders get out of his way and actually don't expect some of his shots....like the one from behind the backboard at Ok State the other night
Good riddance to the the bad rubbish, you say that like it is a bad thing, Eron Harris anyone? Potential unrealized gets ya nowhere with Huggins.
Neither does a me-first, whiny attitude. Harris was the poster boy. I think Huggs has done a great job of assembling teams.
Seems like we're a perennial top 15 team now. Odd thing is we don't send players to the NBA. Oh that's right, the Mark Cubans of the world hate defense.

Allen was absolutely terrific this evening. A valuable piece in the puzzle, to a nice team effort.
My pick would be Ron "Fritz" Williams". He was ninth pick, and first guard taken in NBA Draft. Was also drafted by Dallas Cowboys - - hadn't played football since HS. Played 6-8 yars in NBA with San Francisco, Los Angeles, and one other team. WV native from Weirton.
