Looking like OT board has lots of non-football fans. The few posts regarding FB or BB we do see on this board are usually dominated by the same people who play pick-em.

Why didn't you assign points to the games? You still have a ton of points available. You and a few others on the bottom just need to kick butt. If Cool picks well the rest of the way, keep an eye on him

I did. I just didn't know much about any games, so I mostly left them alone. Now that we are past Christmas, I have much more movement in my confidence levels.

It is tough to evaluate how one is really doing with ESPN versus Yahoo within the entire group. The PPR is interesting but one needs to fully understand how to incorporate the points won to date into the Possible Points Remaining versus how Yahoo did it with Maximum Possible which incorporated it for you. Then all you had to do was scan the whole list and that one column.

Not that my opinion matters, but the Michigan Herd dude has posted here and is a real person. I don't think you should remove him. But you are the one with the power.

He's a Michigan fan and a Herd fan. He can go play in traffic.

@WVUBRU--you are doing really well.
I had three strong picks that I assigned max point value to and they came through. I'm on a downhill swing now. I could get lucky but there isn't a game out there that has yet to be playedI would put money on.

If Penn State loses, I will be a happy man. That is my first priority.

I was all-in on Utah; regrettably, that proved to be fairly easy. I also happened to change to Kansas State just ahead of last night's kickoff (when I heard for the first time that Rosen wasn't going to play for UCLA).

Of course, I about threw my drink at the TV when I turned on the game just before halftime with UCLA up comfortably (and worse, playing a scrub). Fortunately, Snyder (evidently) pressed every correct button in the 2nd half.

Meanwhile, I'm going down the tubes on G5 teams like NIU and Southern Miss. And frankly, I dont have much confidence in my remaining picks; I'll probably be pseudo-satisfied if I finish the bracket right where I'm at currently about dead-enter.

Well, what do you expect; this board is polluted with some of THE most humorless individuals in the entire Western Hemisphere: THE, 2007, Snow Sled, neilmont (who has happily taken some time off) .....and, of course, the non-stop, 24/7, neck-and-neck competitors for the undisputed title of Saddest Individual in the Entire Universe, 82, atl, and _____ Bill.

Good to see The Product get his beat last night even though most of us had picked his team to win. I tell ya; Jeff Brohm up in Purdue is the real deal as a HC.

I threw a hail mary after watching the start of the Arizona game knowing they were going to lose and raised my point value on the Texas game to my highest level available. I liked Texas going against Missouri but I had them originally around the 30 point level. But of all the games remaining, it was my strongest pick so I moved them accordingly. Fortunate it came through.

Yeah, I must be doing okay, and possibly even winning or close to winning, seeing as how you want to remove me from your little bitty game. It's what liberals do best. All this winning and you want to remove the person responsible for all the winning. Go ahead, contact Mueller, and get me removed, pvssy hat wearing, miserable liberal.

Ok Coop, I've changed my mind. No excuse for any jackass to make a pick'em contest into a political hack especially when they can't understand you are not even a liberal. Let him play in traffic.

My guess is he saw Michigan on the TV screen growing up, but only had grades and money to attend Marshall. Like all other Herdies.

Only Marshall I've been to is Marshall, Michigan, home of Dark Horse Brewing. I go there often for an educational experience like no other.

Granted, UVA isn't any kind of defensive powerhouse.......but if you watched the game pseudo-closely, you saw they generally lined up 10 defensive players inside the tackles and within about 5 yards of the defensive LOS. And STILL, they gave up 450+ yards on the ground.

Meanwhile, the Service Academies (as a group) are just flat a different kettle of fish than just about everyone else in the game......and that's BEFORE you try and deal with that Navy option.

UVA had several starters on defense not playing. Two were injured and two were kicked off the team and lost scholarship. Of course I didn't know this until after the game started.

Well then, I guess that explains some of it.......but still, you'd think they could do marginally better than 450 yards allowed simply by clogging up the running lanes with sheer numbers. Of course, I seriously doubt UVA is the only team that struggles in a game like that, especially on Navy's home field.

I suspect I personally root for a Program that would have had similar defensive problems......

We had folks in this contest who picked teams like Akron, North Texas, and Southern Miss (yours truly), each of whom ended up getting whacked. Of course, that's the way a contest like this works.

But that having been said, can someone tell me why....in last Saturday's Dollar General Bowl (which I doubt anyone here gave two ***** about).....all 14 of our entrants picked Toledo, who, of course, ended up getting curb-stomped by App State.

That was the only game where our entire field got shutout.....

I picked Toledo because it seems like the MAC always does well in bowl games and Appy St was a little down this year. Very surprised by that score haha.

Obviously the refs gave that game to Appy State.

I had Okie State over vt as my highest confidence pick, so at least I got that right.

It is ??

I freely admit I didn't watch a second of the game; but I just read that App State out gained UT 458-146......and won the turnover battle 4-0......while they having 35 yards in penalties to 25 for UT. Now you can tell me how it's 'obvious' the stripes "gave that game to Appy State".

Of course, maybe you're just responding with some of that humor we'd already know we'd NEVER see from 82, 2007, atl, _____ Bill, neilmont, Sled, and THE (and let me add Airport, Lenny, and rog to that list)

I have watched more than my share of football this bowl season. Mostly terrible games, especially on the defense side of the ball. This WF-TexA&M game is horrific defense.

I want Mountaineer defense to improve greatly next year. These teams that just try to outscore the other team and I believe that is somewhat our mindset is as well, I'm tired of it.

Mntneer making a strong push today. My days being up at the top are about over with. I had to take Washington against PSU as I have another season long pool that is serious money involved, and Washington is one of my teams and I have to have them win. I'm the only one not selecting PSU in this bowl pick'em. I think I will be the only one with a loss with this game.

Things are tightening up.

Beer and Cool Man are sitting pretty right now.

Except we both crashed and burned on Louisville and Memphis this afternoon, knocking us down solidly to the middle of the pack. UL was my first major loss among the Confidence Picks (39 points), which just about cooks any chance I myself had to win.

I think the people who picked the matchups this year did a pretty good job. 14 of the 31 games so far have been decided by 7 points or less.
