I don`t like the call being reversed on the play...I think the Steelers got robbed...But throwing a INT on the next play is down right Seattle in the Super Bowl with Brady winning that game with a freakin gift also....One lucky MF......

That’s what is being lost in the discussion. The call took away a TD but Ben forcing that ball over the middle into all that traffic wasn’t very smart. At worst they had a game tying FG and a chance to win in OT. The call didn’t cost them the game.

Yes it did, that play doesn’t happen if the touchdown is scored shew it

Hate the Patriots. It was the right call. A receiver going to the ground has to maintain possession all the way through. The ball can touch the ground but if it does the ball can't move relative to the receiver's hands.

The NFL is becoming a joke. The Cowboys went over 8 games without a single holding call against the opposition despite our guys getting tackled at times. Officiating is a joke and there are no repercussions for these guys. As much money as the league is bringing in there’s no reason not to have full time officials who aren’t all AARP members. They need to watch tape and go to clinics and be tested during the off season. And be suspended and fired when they miss calls.

Same BS tonight. Sean Lee gets hog tied & dragged to the ground which directly impacted a play on a scoring drive. No call. Next series barely touch an Oakland defender & it's a hold ending the drive.

I like like our young CB’s. They’re raw but at least they can tackle and make plays on balls. I love Frazier at S and I think we need to move Jones back to corner as he’s not a Safety in this league. Tonight’s game was crazy. And if all the holding calls on Oakland had been called we wouldn’t have needed Carr to give us the game. But Merry Christmas to us! Lol!

They might be ok in time. Right now their inexperience hurts us in key situations.

Carr should have known the situation there. First & goal from the 1/2 yard line and they likely win. I'll take the W though! Now Zeke is back so let's see what happens. Need lots of help in addition to having to win out.

Honestly, I thought that rule applied to someone catching the ball and going straight to the ground. He caught the ball went to his knees...pivoted and lunged, which to me is a football move forward. I thought it was a catch and a fumble.

This is exactly why the call was wrong. If the catch was made in the endzone and he hits the ground and the ball comes loose then it is not a catch. He caught the ball at the 2, went down (made a football move) and stretched out and the ball wiggled after it was already in the end zone all before he was touched. Once the ball crossed the plane of the end zone the play should have been over. Once he hit the ground untouched he became a runner and not a pass catcher..

I agree totally. The rule is the rule, but it is still an incorrect rule. The plane of the goal is crossed. He caught the ball in his chest, then extended it to the plane (a football move). The rule should take into consideration that it is over the plane (like a running back). Oh well .. maybe next time. The Steelers did decent without AB. Need to take care of business and get that bye.

Hence why I said the rule is a bad rule. It wasnt this way for years and isnt this way in other levels of football. Common Sense does not always win.

The officials' interpretation of the rule (which is the only one that matters) is that if a player goes straight down after a catch, which is what happened, they must maintain control all the way to the ground. EVEN if it crosses the plane of the end zone because the receiver is not considered a runner unless they control the ball after hitting the ground. RIDICULOUS rule if that is the true interpretation. Needs completely changed. I'm still bitter over that Dez CATCH against the Packers. Dumbest rule in the NFL. Even worse than the tuck rule.
