You don't plead to an unrelated crime if you were part of a criminal scheme. You plead guilty to your portion of the scheme, so the prosecutor can nail the higher ups using your testimony and knowledge of the entire scam to nail the rest of the wrongdoers. Neither Flynn, nor Manafort, or Poppy pleaded in relation to anyhting to do with collusion. Mueller doesn't have a case
