I hope you noticed our backup QB is 16 for 19 with 300 plus yards in limited play. Not bad for a running Q-B and the second fastest guy on our team. I think we will be okay.

I'm just curious Luke, why would a Texas fan be hanging out on a WVU board during the week OU plays them. Kind of strange unless you have two BIG 12 teams you pull for.

Yelp, the children have taken over. Do you have anything to say about your team's chances?
Let me drink some shine and ponder WVU softness in the trenches.........:
If OU runs the ball it will be 49-10
If OU comes out and tries to throw the ball all over the field with Murray WVU has a chance. More times you let the backup QB get the ball the more comfortable he will feel.

Everyone in Mountaineer Field for the Texas game saw the HUGE difference between Will Grier and Chris Chugunov, the backup QB from New Jersey. It's understandable because Chugs is a redshirt sophomore with little experience, and most of that in mopup time in the early WVU blowouts. As soon as Grier went down, WVU's chances against Texas plummeted. Doesn't mean WVU can't beat Oklahoma, but the odds got a LOT longer. I'll be watching and hoping for my alma mater, as usual.

M istakes by special teams + absence of Simms & Long = loss to Virginia Tech, 24-31

O bliterated East Carolina, 56-20

U nhinged Delaware State, 59-16

N ot sharp but beat Kansas, 56-34

T ops statistically but tough loss to TCU, 24-31

A mbushed Texas Tech, 46-35, with 20:49 minute goose egg

I nvincible to inept, nipped Baylor, 38-36

N oxious offense deadly vs. Oklahoma State, 39-50

E arly lead behind offense, defense; survived Iowa State, 20-16

E xcellent defense, eventually offense beat Kansas State, 28-23

R eam Texas

S urvive Oklahoma

The run to the outside was called because of WVU's softness on the OL.
3rd and Goal from the 1 and a half you should run up the middle.
WVU couldn't run the football so they bounced to the outside and you saw what happen.

Can't run the ball and can't stop the run

WV gives the ball off to the wrong running back when they try to score up the middle on one yard plays. To tell you the truth the most successful play statistically is the old QB sneak. Check it out. The QB sneak is not ran much these days but it remains statistically the easiest way to score from close in. Warez

Especially in college football, where it's legal to allow other players to push the running back. Michigan does this every time they're close like that. They'll hand it off to their fullback who's close to 300 lbs, and then another fullback or tight end lining up close to him pushes right behind him. That's 600 lbs of beef up the middle. Some QBs aren't good at the sneak, so you always have to fear they'll get antsy and forget to hold onto the football prior to grinding it in.

My goodness Hugo. No reason to run up the white flag before the game has even started. Baker or not.

Murray, our back up q-b has started 5 games and he's only a sophomore.

Hope to see a good clean game and I can say WVU has never played us dirty. We've had problems with Baylor, TCU and now Kansas.

Good luck.

That was kind of hard to follow. Looks like a video I would take. He was a true freshman in that game.

That is the game that reinforced A&M's position in the SEC.
They could have beaten Alabama. Stupid QB decisions by the coaching staff and stupid plays by their QB pretty much ended two QBs career at A&M along with an OC.
Funny thing is the OC is now at WVirginia and the QB will be starting for OU.

He’s not starting. What does that mean? He sits until they need him? A series?

It is a Bill Belichek/Tom Brady type of move.
Get the QB experience for next year or more importantly if Mayfield gets injured in a game they have a QB who has taken first team snaps in live action.
A lot of CFB teams are realizing you need 2 QB's.

I used to think that Steve Spurrier was an idiot for yanking QB's like he did but seeing Tom Herman do it I see the reason why.

How’s it feel knowing Texas is a sooner cuck? They have Sooners in their nightmares.

Wrong. The play was called because Grier changed the play at last moment. He took the ball out of the RB arms and decided to option of throwing to Sills or running around the end. He failed at his decision and cost the Mountaineers dearly as he was injured.

Dana Holgersen gives Grier that much control of the offense.

Last I checked Spavital was OC. The play was designed as RPO. He chose not to hand off, he chose not to pass he decide to run for the pylon. Learn football.

Watch the video 0:30. The handoff was in hopes of the corners biting
West Virginia should have put in 2 TE's and ran the Ball. They proved to be weak and that is why their QB went out

That play is actually called a bootleg.
In a RPO the QB doesn't roll out.

Yes, they do. It is a RUN pass option.

Good lord you are an idiot and not ashamed to openly display it.

Run Pass Option is when the QB is out of the shotgun and decides what he will do before the play develops based on how the defense lineups.

Difference is that in a bootleg the QB's design play is to run to the sideline and decide to throw or run

Will Grier has small hands and has had issues with turnovers in the rain.
Right before the play was called the rain started to come down hard. He lost control of the ball and couldn't take a fall on his finger.

If West Virginia could run the Ball in and play football with their dick out it wouldn't be an issue
